“No!”
“No way!”
“In your dreams!”
Ahhh the sweet sound of rejection. Something I know all too well. But hey, there are plenty of fish in the sea. Right?
“Tyler get your pathetic excuse of a backside downstairs pronto!”
“In a minute!” I shout back to my older sister Kelly. “And I’ll think you’ll find my backside’s pretty damn fine!”
“Is that what you tell yourself, dream on flat ass.” She laughed from downstairs.
Clapping I walk down the stairs. “You know Kelly you’ve out done yourself this time, those insults. Ouch. I still feel the sting, oh wait nope just heart burn.” Smiling I walk past her and out the front door.
She catches up to me and grabs my shoulder. “You know, you should show me some more respect. Your still such a little kid, and me well I’m practically an adult.” She flicks her hair and smiles harshly at me.
“I’m sixteen Kelly. Sixteen! Not three and your only eighteen. I guess you look eighty *cough* oh sorry eighteen but you do make up for that with that oh so mature personality of yours.” I smile sarcastically at her and speed up my walk to the bus.
“You know your right, I am mature thanks Ty.” She smiles at me in a sickly sweet way and bumped my shoulder.
We arrive at the bus stop and Kelly walks off toward her snotty ‘besties’ as she calls them. I don’t get girls. They act all nice around each other and then talk about each other behind their backs. What that about?
“Hey Ty.”
“Sup Leo.” I nod at Leo and smile.
“Not much,... Kelly looks happy today.” He said turning around to look at Kelly and her friends all huddled in a circle laughing with one another.
“Yep, I heard her on the phone last night, talking to one of her friends. Apparently some boy’s going to ask her out today or something.” I said shrugging my shoulders.
“Dude you listen to your sister’s phone calls?” He said raising an eyebrow at me.
“Unfortunately I had no choice, she was on the phone all night and my rooms directly next door to hers, so I was forced to listen to her jabber on and on about this boy.” I said yawning. I rubbed my hands over my face and lent against a lampost as we waited for the bus.
“Sounds like you had a great night’s sleep.” He smirked at me and laughed.
“Shut up Leo.” I rolled my eyes and the bus pulled into the station. “Just get on the bus.” I said bumping him with my shoulder. He laughed and we got on.
Morning bus patrol. Can't let the ladies go with out a bit of Tyler love.
“Frankie, hi.”
“Get lost Tyler.” She said flicking her hair at me and turning back to her friend who she was sat next to.
"Hey Louise.” I smiled.
“Okay…do I know you?” She said looking at me really confused.
“No…but you could…how about it?” I gave her a cheeky smile and winked.
“I’m thinking no…” She pulled out a set of headphones and plugged them into her ears.
“Okay.” I said smiling at her.
I stopped at our usual seat and smiled at Rachael sitting there with her book in her hands.
“Hey Rach, hows life in Booktropolis?” She looked up at me, confession all over her face.
