“Do you think she’s gonna sit with us?” I asked Leo as we headed towards the bus. Leo shrugged his shoulders.
“I have no clue…it Rachael, that's like asking do you recon it will rain next year. But she can’t stay mad for long.” Leo reassured me.
We climbed on to the bus. I would usually do my talking to the girls on the bus as we walked down towards our seats routine. But with my new found fear of talking to girls, and my problem with Rach, I don’t feel like talking that much.
“Hey Ty.” A girl said sweetly at me as we walked.
“Umm…hi.” I said walking strait past her.
When we reached our seats we sat down.
No Rachael.
“Dude calm down, she can’t stay mad forever.” Leo said putting his bag down on the empty seat next to him.
I sighed heavily. We sat in silence all the way, until we reached our stop. We got off the ageing bus, and began heading in the direction of our homes. I caught a glimpse of Racheal heading in the opposite direction.
“Don’t dude, just let her go.” Leo said putting his hand on my shoulder, sympathetically, but I could tell he was making sure I didn’t go after her. I sighed and turned back, to the direction we were heading.
“When do you think she’ll talk to me again?” I asked Leo as we walked side by side.
“Soon probably.” He said as we stopped outside of my house. “Just give her some space…she needs it.”
“Ok.” I said turning to my house. I grabbed my key and stuck it in the door. I walked into the silent house. Guess mums doing a night shift tonight. I walked up the stairs and into my room throwing my bag down onto my bed as I walked in.
I stood still for a minute. What’s that noise? I pressed my ear against my bedroom wall. The one directly opposite of Kelly’s room. I could here Kelly giggling and the sound of a…boy.
Do I beat him up? Should I leave?
Maybe I should go see Racheal. Gives me an excuse to leave I suppose. I quickly changed out of my school clothes, into a pair of dark denim jeans and a black t-shirts. Stuffing my phone and key in my pocket I walked downstairs stuck a note on the fridge, so mum didn’t freak out and left the house.
Should I be doing this? I felt a drop of water hit my forehead. Great. This is all I need. Typical.
The rain got heavier as I got closer to Racheal’s by the time I got there I was drenched.
I knocked on the door. And to my horror, Harry answered.
“Oh.” He said simply. He looked me up and down, and smirked. I was cold and shivering.
“Can I speak to Racheal please?” I said just as simply as Harrys ‘oh’. He looked too at home at Racheal’s. I don’t like it.
“Rach…it’s for you.” Harry called back into the house.
“K…be there in a minute.” I herd Racheal call from back of the house.
“Come in.” Harry said stepping aside for me. He walked away and left me, shivering by the doorway.
Racheal walked around the corner, stopped when she saw it was me, and frowned. “What is it Ty?” She said angrily.
“I…don’t know Rach. I want to apologize really. Again. I know it’s pointless.” I said shivering, drops of water ran down my nose and dripped of the end.
