Heyyyyy X

So I don't know if i'm the only one but I kinda love present day Noel, he's still really attractive and I don't think he looks his age. I realised that there are NOT enough present day fics for Noely, so I'm making one for those who are interested. This is an idea I've had for a while and i'm really looking forward to writing this. Oh btw, Noel broke up with Sara a year ago during this fic.

Enjoy or Don't XXX

Marley's POV:

Friday evening, a time to relax and let yourself go right? Wrong! At least to me it wasn't. I despised Friday's as for me that meant I had to work into the wee hours of the night, slaving away in the cafe. Despite the lack of customers we got, I was still forced to stay until 2am serving the odd drunkard that staggered in.

Leaning against the counter, I stared out of one of the windows, watching cold rain patter against the glass pane. I was supposed to be cleaning up the tables however I got distracted easily and found my self gazing out at the dark roads, completely out of it. Every so often a car would drive past, its bright headlights illuminating the rain drops, however the streets were fairly quiet. Most people were packed into the bars nearby, getting absolutely hammered, not driving around. I stood still, not blinking for nearly an entire minute until someone snapped me out of it.

"Marley? ey Marley... anyone in there?"

I fluttered my eyelids a few times, shaking my head slightly before turning around. The familiar irritatingly high pitched voice of my boss enough to get me out of my daze. Sure enough, Cheryl was standing beside me, waving a hand directly in front of my face. God she was so irritating. And she was the most fake person to ever walk this planet: bright cherry red hair, lip fillers, eyebrow tattoos, a boob job and so much botox that her face was almost unable to move or show emotion.

"Sorry, it's been a long day" I explained giving her a weak, unenthusiastic smile.

She didn't smile back. I'm not sure if this was because of the innumerable amounts of chemicals injected into her face or because she was generally a horrible person.

"Whatever" She snapped, crossing her arms across her huge chest "You're on closing shift tonight."

I sighed internally, closing shift meant that I had to stay just a little longer than everybody else so that I could lock up the cafe. As if working until 2am wasn't bad enough. Great!

"Right, okay" I couldn't even muster up the energy anymore to protest, I just tried to get on with whatever task I was presented with.

"I have to leave early today" She announced, sounding rather smug.

I ignored her, spinning around again and reaching for the blue bottle of cleaning product that was resting on the counter. As I bent down to pick up a cloth from one of the cupboards, she spoke again.

"D'you know why?" She asked proudly, clearly wanting me to question her.

Popping up from behind the cupboard, cloth clutched in hand, I shook my head.

"No Cheryl, Why?" I mumbled through gritted teeth, forcing a wide smile on my lips as I began to walk over to one of the dirty tables.

"I have a date!" The way that she spoke made me sick, why the fuck did she have to rub things in so much? Besides who wanted to go on a date with her?

She knew full well that I lived alone and hadn't been on a date in just over a year. I constantly tried to convince my self that I had no inclination to be in a relationship, though deep down I wished I had someone to call my own. Somebody who would be there for me after one of my many shit days, who I could just cuddle with on the sofa or have a pleasant conversation with.
