Chapter 2-
*2 years after the Conversation (Chapter 1)
Alyson looked at herself in the mirror. She turned around. Her hips were getting a little fat, but not a problem. She concentrated on the fat in her hips and before her eyes, her hips shrunk slightly. She smiled at her change in physique.
But skinny hips would made her jeans too loose. She placed her hand over her jeans and the jeans began to shrink until they fit her perfectly. Thank God for organic jeans.
She put on her purple shirt and walked down to the kitchen downstairs. Her mother was there sipping some coffee.
"Stop Rearranging yourself," her mother said as she gazed on Emily's now-skinnier form.
"C'mon Mom, I was getting fat hips." Alyson pleaded.
"Arrange yourself back. Don't you think someone might notice that you're dramatically skinnier?"
"Mom, it's only a little bit."
"It's a little too much. Now arrange yourself back to normal."
Alyson rolled her eyes but allowed her hips to return back to their normal size.
"Thats more like it, Aly-Apple." Kristin pushed a plate of waffle and apple to her daughter.
Alyson groaned, "Waffle, Mom? I wanted pancakes." She took a quick look at the clock. "Never mind, I'll fix it myself." She headed to the door.
"Wait, Aly-Apple," her mother called behind her. Alyson smiled and turned around.
"Let's keep Rearranging a secret," the two said in unison. Alyson smiled as she walked out, they had said that every day since Alyson discovered that she could Rearrange. Alyson grabbed her backpack and hoodie, before heading to school.
She took a bite of her apple and almost spat it. It was almost all water and it tasted disgusting. She forced herself to swallow the bite and focused on improving the apple. Water leaked from the apple and looked like the fruit was sweating. Alyson took another bite, this time the apple was much sweeter. She finished and dropped the apple core on the ground, the fruit converting to a yellow powder as it fell. Alyson knew her mother would have a heart attack if she could see her Rearranging now. But she was too far from her school for anyone to see her. She took a bite out of the waffle and frowned. It was too sweet and too dense. Alyson switched the waffle to her other hand, which was dripping wet from the apple. The waffle began to grow as it absorbed the water off Alyson's hand. Alyson took a bite out of her Rearranged organic waffle, now it was much better-tasting.
As she caught sight of her school, she stuffed her mouth with the rest of the waffle.
Clear Sky High School was crowded with students in its large halls. It could take a pretty long time to find someone in the large mass of bodies, but Alyson always knew where her friend was.
Charlotte Baxter was standing by the 9th grader's 2nd floor water fountain as usual, searching for her friend.
Alyson smiled as she approached her friend and Charlotte smiled back.
"Hey-" Charlotte began. Her words were cut off by a kiss from her boyfriend.
Alyson frowned as Chris made out with her best friend. The boy was incredibly stupid and vain. Alyson had no idea what Charlotte saw in the immature idiot. They were still kissing; Alyson glanced at her watch. Her friend had been making out for a full minute, far too much. Finally, Alyson pulled Chris off Charlotte.
