Rearranging ch 10

After 2 days of travel, they were finally at the house. Alyson was tired, her friend's death scrared sleep away to the point that Alyson had to Rearrange her body to feel like it has slept.

Her friend haunted her in the night and worries of her mother bothered her during the day. At last they were in the middle of Washington State, William paid the taxi driver and the pair watched as the cab disappeared into the forestry. The taxi drove for quite sometime and the pair was still nowhere close to the house because  William couldn't risk the Secret Branch discovering the taxi driver.

William sighed and opened the journal. This wasn't Alyson's journal, this was his journal. It contained a list of things he needed t do with Alyson in the possibility of numerous situations.

He flipped to the page giving him exact direction to the house. William shut the book and carefully slid it into his waistband under his shirt.

He pointed into the forest into the direction of the house her father had promised.

After an hour trekking through the thick forest, the trees began to clear out until the pair was standing right in front of two large cabins.

"This is it. The house that your father promised."

Alyson sighed in relief and ran up to one of the large cabins. She was a bit suprised to find that the door was still open and smooth.

Once she stepped into the cabin, she coughed immediately. The cabin was musty and covered with dust. William walked in calmly behind her and stated, "This. Obviously meeds to be cleaned before we settle into here."

Alyson took two steps into the cabin's small living room and slumped onto the couch. A cloud of dust puffed off the couch. She coughed and closed her eyes.

"Did I not say, we need to clean up the place first?" William asked.

"Whatever." Alyson muttered she closed her eyes and immediately jerked up as an image of her dying friends flashed in her head. "Actually, you're right. I should help you clean up the house."

"You can use water from the tap and a rag. The house recycles and filter its own water, I don't know how your father managed all of this, even back when he wasn't in hiding." William instructed.

Alyson searched the house and found the kitchen. She instinctively opened the drawer closest to the sink, that was where her mother always put fresh cleaning supplies. She was a bit surprised to find that her father had put them in the same place.

She grabbed a dusty sponge and shook the dust off. As she squeezed the sponge in the sink she could smell the faint stench of bleach.
