Jongdae didn't talk to Jongin for two days after his "incident" at Baekhyun's apartment. Jongin understood why, so he didn't complain about it. He was just a little mad at Jongdae for not giving him a chance to explain himself. He didn't want to eat Kyungsoo, but murder him, and for his own sake, too.

It was wrong for him to react that way, yes, but he couldn't help himself. Those two "friends" of his weren't human, Jongin knew that for a fact. He couldn't hear Kyungsoo's heartbeat, and Baekhyun's eyes...they were terrifying.

After that night, Baekhyun started to come around their apartment. A lot. It made Jongin uncomfortable, and when ever they came together, Jongin would feel tense and angry, like he was around a threat.

And Kyungsoo...on the rare occasions when he would tag along, the intense feeling Jongin had was much worse, and he hated it. Every time, they would stare each other down, like some sort of challenge.

There was one day, a couple of weeks after the first visit. They were all in Jongdae's apartment, relaxing and talking. Kyungsoo shifted the wrong way, and Jongin let out a growl he hasn't heard in months. He was so close to punching him that he had to hold himself back. That day ended with Jongdae quickly and politely kicking his friends out, and Jongin getting ignored for another week.

When the full moon came around, faster than either of them wanted to, Jongdae didn't hesitate with the moon collar. Jongin saw it coming; he knew with all of his "acting up", Jongdae wasn't going to let him slide this time. Even so, the pain was unbearable,
and Jongin wanted it to end as soon as possible.

His mother lied to him when she said the pain gets easier to bear. It still feels the same as the first time, when he was four. All those years of feeling like spikes are digging into his neck, and feeling too drained to make it stop, he hates it, and if Jongin could, he'd do anything to make it stop.

Jongdae locked Jongin in his bedroom, not caring if he makes a mess in there. He felt sick as he left his brother a shriveling, panicked mess on the floor, the moon collar tight around his neck. Like always, Jongin would beg for it to come off, and, like always, Jongdae would ignore him.

That next morning, neither of them said anything to each other. Jongdae took the collar off, and Jongin just stared off. The bedroom was a mess, as expected.

Awkwardly, Jongdae says, "Hey, I, um, have classes today, so I'll be back later, okay?"

Jongin doesn't respond, and Jongdae sighs, and says, "Look, you're probably mad at me, and you know what, Jongin?" He realized how mad he was as he sounded angrier and angrier. "I don't give two shits, because I can't even count the amount of times you looked like you wanted to murder Kyungsoo, and after you promised-"

"Jongdae," Jongin says quietly, expectant of Jongdae's disbelief. "It's not my fault. There's something wrong with those two, I know it."

Jongdae laughed. It was a sarcastic, condescending laugh, and Jongin wanted to strangle him for it, even though he knew his brother wasn't going to believe him. "You mean," He starts, hands on his hips. "My best friends that I've know for years, are monsters like you?"

It came out harshly, and Jongin shrank back, but said, "I know these things better than you. I can feel when someone isn't human, Jongdae you could be in danger-"

"Alright," Jongdae puts a hand up. "That's where I'm going to stop you. Jongin, you've endangered my life more than they have, and you're my family. And if you think this justifies anything you've been doing-"

"It doesn't, I know and I'm sorry." Jongin sat up from Jongdae's bed, and looked at him, trying to convey his message with sincerity. Jongdae couldn't make eye contact with him. "But you have to believe me. I don't think they're safe to be around. They make me feel weird...and Baekhyun's eyes, they're..." He trailed off, not wanting to remember.
