The collar came in the mail a few days later, just like Jongdae's mother said.
It didn't look like much. Just a ring of sticks and pretty flowers. Werewolves couldn't break them because of the magic in the flowers.
Jongin's done it twice. Probably more since Jongdae's left.
...should I really make him wear this all the time? As much as he despised Jongin, Jongdae didn't like to see him in pain. And that collar was hell for Jongin. Plus, there was that small chance of him breaking it.
Only on full moons. I'm sure he'll be fine any other day...hopefully.
Two weeks came faster than Jongdae wanted to, and it was time to pick Jongin up from the train station.
Walking to the benches, he felt uneasy. He hasn't seen Jongin in a couple of years. It's been a while...I wonder if he's still the same.
Jongdae hated it when his family visited. He hated it when they called. He hated it when they tried to be in his life. It was awkward and felt forced sometimes.
Now that Jongin is going to be living with him, this is going to be difficult.
He sat on the cold bench, and waited for Jongin's train. I hope he didn't get lost...that's the last thing I need.
Jongdae looked around for him, scanning the area for a man who looked lost.
Then he saw him. Jongin being lost...
Damnit...His eyes were looking around, panicked and afraid. There's too many people around...
Ever since the two were little, Jongin was always the shyer one. He has so much trouble making friends not only from the werewolf thing, but also because he was so quiet. He got overwhelmed pretty easily, and new people always make him scared. And when Jongin gets scared, worried, nervous, or anything like that...
He would shift.
Quickly thinking, Jongdae shouts out, "Jongin!"
Jongin snapped his head towards Jongdae's direction. Jongdae swallowed.
Jongin looked normal enough to get by. No one who didn't know about werewolves could tell he was one. It was weird to see him that way, all...human. Jongdae was so used to the sharp teeth and yellow eyes, it took him a little off guard to see Jongin...look like him.
As Jongin quickly walked over to him, Jongdae couldn't help but take a step back. "Jongdae...?" He says quietly.
"Hey," Jongdae says slowly, "Um...how have you been?" He couldn't think of anything else to ask.
Jongin hesitated. He didn't know what his mother said to Jongdae about him. He didn't want to say something that would make him look worse to Jongdae. After a awkward pause, Jongin said, "...Um...I'm fine."
"Um, great." Jongdae claps his hands to break another awkward pause. "How about we go on to my place before you have a panic attack in here. Sound good?"
"Yeah," Jongin says. Jongdae leads the way out of the station. So far, so good. "So, um, how have you been?"
"Fine." Jongdae says quickly, unlocking the car with his car keys. They both get in after Jongin puts his clothes in the trunk.
More awkward silence.
Jongin didn't want it to be this quiet. Jongdae was his brother, he should be asking lots of questions and trying to connect to him after not seeing him for years.
