WARNING: This story is my little tester-cake. It helped me figure out writing a little bit, try ideas, use dialogue for the first time, interpret stories and just have a go. The plot is all over the place. Some of the sub-plots and ideas are not needed and unnecessary. Some of it doesn't make sense, and it's just all... Very messy and terrible. The dialogue doesn't flow the way it should, my writing syntax is incorrect, my writing is just... urgh.
Despite all of this, this story helped me progress as a writer A LOT. I suggest everyone should do it. Seriously! Once you give it a go and write and write and write, I swear it'll be worth it. When you look back on it and go, "Omg. This is shit. How did I even write this...?" you'll know that from there you have progressed! And I've progressed a whole lot.
As I said... This story is terrible. My writing is terrible, my sentence structure is terrible, my commas are terrible, my dialogue is terrible. Do not judge my writing on this, but read if you wish... Thank you! x
Prologue
Sometimes life draws you in to things you don’t expect. Sometimes things happen for a reason. But if you don’t believe that, you have to wait, until fate decides to turn up at your door wearing a fancy hat and gripping a be-jewelled walking stick. You see, I’m Tansy Rosa May. And where I’m from, England, we had some strange customs. Since the Dark blood war we had been living in surrender of the Mians. I, Tansy Rosa May, am a Mian. Not a Mayan, no, not for a long time. I’m a Mian. We believed that the name Mayan struck my race into peril. It wiped us out. It killed us. Old stories of how our people were killed by some intruders, nothing but a lie. Our membering society made sure to make notify that everyone believed it, that we, the Mians, were not weak. We didn’t die of starvation. We didn’t resort to cannibalism because the animals disappeared.
But we did.
I’m sitting here, gripping my pencil, because I have to write everything I have learned down. I have to share my stories, my adventures and my findings.
However, I do not feel as if that would be the greatest of ideas. So . . . I’m going to make it a little more interesting.
If you want to read my stories, if you want to unlock my adventures and my findings, go ahead. But my life had been torn from my grasp and given to a five year old who had the need to play. But if that makes you excited or if it makes you shake yourself with glee, then go ahead. Read on. Unlock my adventures. Because, I, Tansy Rosa May, have decided that I will share with you what I have learned.
This is my story.
Chapter 1
I pulled the covers around my body, wishing more than anything that my bed would swallow me up. I sighed, rubbing my eyes, as I rose gently into a comfortable sitting position.
