We marched in straight lines, every once in a while, Bethy would yell out, “Clear!”
Needless to say I expected subtle tip-toeing around the grounds, peeking in classroom windows and that sort of stuff.
I was way, way wrong. Don’t let anyone know what we’re planning. Oh yeah. . .
Several times I would say, “Hey guys? Maybe we should not scream out to the whole school what we’re doing, it’s just a suggestion.”
They would exchange glances and Landon, always the cocky one, would tell me to, “Leave the spy stuff to the big kids.”
So I just kept my big mouth zipped.
Unfortunately I was wearing biker boots that came up to my knee, every wrong turn I made would by highlighted by a ssqqqueeaaakkk!
My new black school pants were starting to ride up my legs, due to the expected aforementioned combat boots.
I was cranky, just dying to pull off the stupid boots. I was tired, just waiting for someone to turn away so I could rip Landon’s head off. I was bored, just begging to find the pearl.
I carried on walking. Well, marching. Same thing. Ish.
“Clear!” Bethy yelled. I winced. We are sooo going to be found out, I thought to myself.
Landon gave the thumbs-up sign and he said, “Let’s take a two minute sit down.”
Let’s cancel out what I said about me ripping Landon’s head off. He has his moments.
“Tansy would you make yourself useful and get me some juice,” he teased with that stupid, cocky grin of his.
OK, cancel what I just said instead of the head rip part.
“I’m going to kill him!” I threatened.
Bethy placed two hands on my shoulders. “Calm down. He does this to everybody. You will learn to love and-or-hate him.”
“Second option please.” I slid down the wall.
Everyone collectively gasped. “No sitting on the job!” Lori screeched, taking a hand and pulling me up.
“She knows nothing!” Landon whispered loud even for me to hear.
“She is just new.” Bethy said.
I was confused. We had taken a break, right? I voiced my thoughts. “Excuse me but. . . I was just perching down to take off my boots.”
“Oh goodness!” Landon pulled a hand through his hair. “Somebody take her away,” he said. I could tell he was savouring the moment and I watched him feign off a smirk.
“You’re not allowed to do that. I’ll try and find a list of spy rules for you, better yet, rogue spy rules.” Lori sounded proud.
“There are spy rules? I thought we just winged it. You know, went in using a rappel cord, kicked some butt before blowing up the building and diving out before it explodes?”
“Holy mother of members,” Landon whispered. “Someone has been watching too much Sad Man.” He added with a distasteful look placed on his face.
I rolled my eyes, deciding that I would not give Landon the honours of an argument with me.
“Silent treatment?” he joked and his eyes widened. “Oo silent treatment!” he sang.
I said nothing. My mouth remained closed.
“Break’s over,” Bethy smiled. Obviously she was doing a great job of butchering the torture.
Thank the holy mother of members for her!
I crossed my arms over my chest and took up my position at the rear. Yes, the rear.
Landon remained at the front with Bethy beside him and Lori behind him. Me, however, I remained a wheel on another kart as I watched them communicate with their eyes and carry on walking, forcing me to just parrot their movements.
When Landon and Bethy weren’t looking, Lori slung her arm over my shoulder. “Wait till you beat him up in gym.”
I thought about it in my head, pictures of me winning him when he was at his best made me feel happy, I grinned evilly.
She winked at me and then hurried up to where she was before.
We carried on walking in our straight forms until Landon stopped completely and we all rushed into him. “Look,” he whispered, pointing to where three people were holding something white in their hands. The pearl!
My eyes widened. We could do this. We could get it. Before any other thoughts processed through my mind, Landon lunged at the three, Bethy and Lori joining him.
It was a full on fist fight. Punches were thrown, kicks were blocked. Moves I didn’t even know existed were used.
I was too wrapped up in the fight to even join in. I didn’t even notice that one of the guys had swiftly been passed the pearl and backed off.
I tried warning my team mates but they didn’t look ready to stop. Moving as fast as I could, I followed him. As soon as he turned the corner he broke out into a sprint, turning to the direction of the classroom.
I ran after him. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a good runner. But he had a head start and he was fast, as fast as me.
He threw himself at the door and placed his hand on the door knob. My life became a dramatic point in a movie as I screamed, “NOOO!!!”
It was too late. He was in the room and I was left centimetres away from the door wondering where it all went wrong.
Landon.

Just started this book and I hope you're enjoying. Feel free to message me about weird things, because I am weird myself and can totally relate.
Oh, and one more thing, look out your window.
It's me! I'm the one standing outside of the old blue police box, waving at you. No, the doctor isn't with me, he's on one of his annual visits to see Rose, and all the others that have left him to go back to their 'normal' lives.
Byeeeee :]
