Beep. Beep. Beep.

“Someone turn that alarm off. I’m still tired,” I muttered into my blue pillow.

“We. Have. Drills.” Lori said groggily. I opened my eyes stiffly and watched her pull herself out of the bed opposite mine.

“Two more minutes, please.” I begged as I closed my eyes.

She didn’t answer and I heard footsteps walk away. I mentally thanked her for letting me sleep.

Just as I was beginning to drift back out of consciousness I felt something wet and cold pour over me.

    “Woopsies,” Lori said.

I jumped out of bed as fast as you can say Freezing-cold-water.

“I’m up! I’m up!” I shouted as lively as I could muster. She nodded at me approvingly and tossed me some clothes.

A blue tank top with the crest of Prestigious on the right side of the chest and a darker blue pair of shorts were the “running uniform”.

They were nice enough and I looked in the mirror after slipping them on.

“Is there a hoodie?” I asked Lori when she reappeared from the bathroom.

“Nope,” she said whilst pulling on her kicker boots.

“Oh man! It’s going to be freezing.”

“I don’t think so. At first it might but by the time they’re finished with us we’ll be drenched in sweat.”

“Sounds like fun,” I muttered sarcastically.

I was dressed in my dark blue training shoes and uniform when I heard knocking on my door.

“Come on. We have ten minutes to get there, hurry up.” Dylan shouted from the other side.

Lori swung the door open and laughed at him, “Let’s go.”

Dylan was dressed in a male version of our uniform with jogging bottoms instead shorts, a shirt instead of a tank top and masculine trainers.

I jogged past him until we reached our “front” door.

“So where exactly are we going?” I wondered out loud. After all Cassie hadn’t exactly told us where to go.

“Malcolm beeped me. Just follow your hero and everything will be good,” he teased.

“So where is Leon Mackenell then?” I joked back with a smile.

“This is cute, really.” Lori chirped in, “But let’s go.”

“OK, follow me.” Dylan said once again before opening the door and letting us trail after him.

We walked half way around the building until we reached a large archway with a pillar that slides across when opened.

Once we had walked in my draw dropped. There was an indoor field and a big one with that. It was huge! There were running courses, a pool that was about 100 metres long. No joke. It had the measurements along the sides and a government approved training course.

“This is a little better than L.C.G.” Lori said feigning nonchalance.

I felt a hand tap my shoulder and I spun around to see Landon standing behind me with a smile, “It’s kinda big.”
