JinJin's POV

"Hey! What's with the sad face? Cheer up, JinJin! Show us your angelic smile," Jimin hyung said to me as he ate his sandwich.

I just glanced at him and sighed. We’re at the school cafeteria because it’s break time.

"Yes~ Jimin hyung is right, JinJin. Anyway, how’s your brother doing?" my other friend and classmate, Youngjae, asked.

How am I supposed to answer that if even I don’t know? My brother, Jinyoung, said that Minhyuk is fine, but I doubt it.

"Ey, Jinwoo hyung! Don’t be sad. Your brother will recover, and it will happen soon," Yugyeom said, and I only gave him a little smile in response. Of course, that’s not true. Minhyuk is not okay. He is suffering from a heart disease, but I don’t understand why my brother stops me from visiting him.

I know I must be strong for our family. Only three of us are left; our parents died in a car accident. Since then, my brother became a sort of rebel—a person who gambled here and there and was always fighting. It only stopped when Minhyuk was rushed to the hospital and confined. I am currently serving as a barista at a nearby café outside the school with my three friends: Jimin hyung, Youngjae, and Yugyeom. The pay is enough, but not enough for Minhyuk’s medicines and checkups.

And today, I am planning to visit him. I don’t care if Jinyoung hyung finds out about this. Who is he to forbid me from visiting Minhyuk? I have to see him. I miss him so much.

"Guys, I’m going now, sorry—"

They all looked up at me in confusion.

"Where are you going, JinJin? We still have some classes left."

"Ahmm... I need to visit Minhyuk now."

"You can do that after classes."

"You don’t understand, my brother is—" My phone suddenly rang. I took it out of my bag, and Jinyoung hyung’s caller ID appeared. I immediately declined it and put it back in my bag.

"Oh hyung, you can go. We’ll just excuse you," Yugyeom said. I smiled at him. At times like this, I’m truly thankful that I have them as my friends.

"You should bring back the old Jinwoo that we know, JinJin—the old Jinwoo who shows his angelic smile throughout the pain."

I just smiled at Jimin hyung and bid them goodbye.

Jimin hyung really does like talking in wisdom. It’s funny but sweet.

Jinyoung's POV

Aisshhh, that brat. He won’t answer me.

"Hyung, what did the doctor say? Are there any chances left for me?"

"Don’t say that like you’re dying, you brat," I said in monotone. I don’t know where I am going to get money for Minhyuk’s operation. I gambled all of the money our parents entrusted to me. I gambled it all because I thought it would become bigger, but damn that guy who challenged me. I sighed. Am I a horrible brother? All the time, Jinwoo says that to me. We fight because of what I am doing, but because of that too, we live—through that.

Just then, I saw Minhyuk looking down at me.

"Huh, no more money left. Am I right, hyung?"

I glanced at my youngest brother and threw a glare at him. He just smirked at me in return.

"Shut up, Rocky."

"Don’t call me that!" he shouted, looking at me with annoyance.

I just focused my gaze out the window. If I had money now, I would surely gamble it. I am always lucky; that’s why I always have money every time I go home. Wait—home... home... right! I have some money left at home!

"Minhyuk, I’ll just go home, but I’ll be back here. Don’t do anything stupid," I said, quickening my pace as I headed out.

"How can I do anything while I’m here??" I heard him shout after me, but I didn’t pay attention to that.
