Narrator's POV

April 12, 2018

It was half past twelve when Mia decided to get up from her bed. Last night's memories kept her awake for most of the night. She knew what she had to do today.

File for a divorce.

It was time for her to end it with Austin. There was no point in keeping whatever they had going on when it was obvious he wasn't going to forgive her. . . forgive her for a misunderstanding on his part. It also had to do with how he carried himself now a days. He wasn't going to change into the man Mia once knew. . . the man Mia once loved. . .

Still love, her subconscious reminded.

Michele's death was fairly new, and Mia had only agreed to marry Austin for her. Considering it was her dying wish as Austin had stated. But still, this chapter of her life needed to end. She couldn't go on any longer trying to move on with Austin constantly breathing down her neck, constantly sleeping with girls even though he knew how much it hurt her, constantly trying to control with who she decided to see even though their marriage was far from being real.

Mia rubbed her small hands across her face as she got up from bed. After going to the bathroom she made a few calls before going downstairs. Her lawyer let her know that the divorce papers would be served as soon as possible.

She spent all day waiting at home to talk to Austin about their separation, but he was no where to be found. It was around one am when she got a call from a bouncer at a club informing her about Austin's intoxication levels and that she would have to come and get him.

Unbelievable.

Quickly putting on some leggings and a hoodie on top of her tank, Mia got into one of Austin's cars and drove to the nightclub where he was at. The bouncer who had spoken to Mia had said he would be waiting outside with Austin. Spotting them right in front of the club she pulled over on the other side of the road, got out and walked up to them.

"You're Mia?" The bouncer spoke gruffly looking at her up and down with a hand around Austin holding him up and steady. He looked like he was in his early 30's, short dark slicked hair. Muscles bulging under his fitted shirt.

"Yes." Mia replied back meekly, her focus being completely on Austin who was clearly out of it, swaying from side to side, with his eyes drooping.

"Does he come here a lot?" She asked, her eyes still glued on Austin.

"Yeah. About every weekend. He's best buddies with my little brother, Mark. I look out for him. . . he's a good kid. I'm Caleb." The bouncer spoke introducing himself as he handed Austin off to Mia.

Her nimble arms grasped around his waist as she put his hand around her shoulders to try and keep him steady as possible. "Thank you for calling me." Mia said softly, trying to hold up Austin's weight.
