There was an eerie sort of silence whenever Castiel slept, it was sort of tense and at this point Dean was just waiting for him to explode.

It seemed his boyfriend was only getting worse, more panicked, more frantic, as time went on.

He knew the dreaded phone call would be coming soon.

Castiel wasn't really there, he was just this ball of stress and all Dean wanted to do was make him better.

He crawled into his boyfriends bed and wrapped his arms around his middle.

The shorter man shifted a little bit, and then relaxed again into the warmth.

Dean nuzzled into his neck and sighed, inhaling all that was Castiel Novak.

"Castiel is the wind blowing the sand on the beach like a tornado," he whispered. "he is the water, fresh and cool and soothing on our toes as we run down the coast."

He held him a little bit tighter.

"Castiel is the desert...is the desert sun beaming down on us like us like god, and if there is one he is certainly happy with us." he kissed his shoulder gently.

"Castiel is bleary eyes, lazy smile in the morning light. Castiel is a thousand different words all worming together until we are reduced to tears and ashes and cigarettes and stardust."

He felt the shorter man shift around to look at him, blue eyes twinkling.

"Is that poetry?" he whispered. "About me?"

Dean grinned and kissed him.

"You're all I write about." he ran his fingers through the raven jungle atop Cas' head. "How are you feeling?"

"Better now." Castiel gave him a smug grin and kissed him on the nose.

"Should I make you some tea?"

"Yes please."

Castiel was working when he got the phonecall.

The screen on his phone flashed and read Mother.

He stopped what he was doing, froze, and stared at it.

No. He wasn't going to cry, There were people around.

She wouldn't tolerate him not picking up the phone, so he excused himself for a break and stood outside.

He was terrified, he was shaking, almost sobbing, as he accepted the call.

"H-hello Mother..."

"Hello Castiel! How are you doing? Is college going well?"

Okay, it wasn't so bad just yet. He could pretend to be okay for a while.

"Very well, I am excelling in all my classes, my professors like me, and I have even made a few friends."

"That's absolutely wonderful to hear! You'll be turning twenty one then, old enough to drink responsibly, you are growing up so fast! You barely call home."

He almost broke down crying there.

"I-I am sorry Mother, I have just been very busy. I have been working to take care of myself as you know."

"Oh, Castiel I understand that! But you would still think you would remember to call every once in a while! I just want to make sure you are not having any more 'problems'! You know I worry about you!"
