Chapter 4

Merida's POV

"Hiccup!" Rupunzel excitedly said,"You first!"

"Well, ummm," Hiccup replied nervously rubbing the back of his neck while looking at me.

"Common Hiccup!" Rupunzel impatiently pushed.

"Well, I haven't quite asked a girl yet..." Hiccup said. "But I do have one in mind!" He hastily added.

"Okay! Go ask her right now! I can come with you if you'd like!" Rupunzel stood up and started to drag Hiccup with her. "So, where do we go to find her?"

"Well, she doesn't know I like her and I'm not sure she would like me."

Hiccup glanced nervously at me again. I gave him a confused and a "what's-wrong" look.

"Then let's go see if she does! Plus, who wouldn't like you? Your a member of the big four! Aren't you?" Rupunzel said trying to drag him away again. "So, let me ask you again, where is she?"

"Rupunzel, you are right, most anyone would want to go to the dance with a big four member," Hiccup stated," But I'm not sure another member would want to go out with me."

He was saying this to Rupunzel, but as he said the last couple of words he turned to me. And he made it obvious he was looking at me.

"Merida," he said, looking at me in the eyes," I know you will probably say no, but you are the girl I would like to go to the dance with. Will you come with me?"

I looked at him stunned to silence. "I knew it," Hiccup said," I shouldn't have even tried."

"Hiccup-" I started to reply.

"You probably already have a date to the dance that you actually like and that isn't me." Hiccup continued.

"Hiccup-" I said again.

"There's probably some guy that you like and that you have already been asked by him and-" Hiccup said as I cut him off.

"Hiccup!" I said now yelling to get his attention," I want to go with you!"

"It's okay, I underst- wait, what!" Hiccup said.

"I said I want to go with you!" I reported to him.

"You do!!" Hiccup excitedly replied.

"Yes! Of course I'll go with you!" I told him. Hiccup stood there, stun fed for a moment, then he ran over to me and engulfed me in a big bear hug. I stood there for a moment, seeing as my arms were penned to my sides by Hiccup's extremely tight hug.

I managed to squirm my arms out of Hiccup's grip and once I did, I returned his hug. I squeezed him and buried my head in his shoulder. He started to stroke my unruly mess of red hair. then he leaned in close to my ear to prevent Jack and Rupunzel from hearing. "Merida, I've liked you for a long time, and I think that I might even love you." he confessed to me.

"I think I love you too." I mumbled into his shoulder so only he could hear. He hugged me even tighter, seeming like he never wanted to let me go.

Jack cleared his throat to get our attention. I pulled away from Hiccup, my face turning as red as my hair. Hiccup's face looked similar, maybe even a slight bit redder.

"Okay then love birds," Jack said," so now we know who you to are going to the dance with, what about you Rupunzel?"

"Well," she replied," I think I like Flynn Rider, but I'm not sure. I think he likes Clary Clyde."

"Well, we can always find out." I said while sitting back down, Hiccup now next to me.

"If you want...." Rupunzel replied to my offer," Okay, Jack, you're the last one! who are you taking?"

"I don't have a date yet, and I have no idea who to ask."jack simply replied to Rupunzel's question.

"Well, we'll find you someone! don't worry!" Hiccup said to reassure Jack.

BRINNNGGGG!!!!!!!!!!

"Oh no! We're late for class again!" I said jumping up off of my seat," Mrs. Brinks is going to kill us!" I grabbed Hiccup and we ran to class, it was one of the only ones where it was just me and him together.

As we ran, I saw Jack and Rupunzel heading off to their classes. "See you later guys!" I yelled to them, then I was at my class.

Hi! how do you guys like my story! I'm sorry I haven't been updating very frequently! I had finals for school this past week, but now that school is out I will be able to do more!
