Gail's P.O.V

As the car rolled up next to the building I glanced at Rae
"Look,you better have your shit together,we don't have time"
"And stay behind me!" I added,only to firmly grip my gun

The girl is smart at least,a little bit over the place,but smart.Once she decides to calm down she'll be a good cop.Typical for a rookie.

The cold interior of the building made a shiver run down my spine.Tile floors and old,patchy blue walls with long, windowless corridors

Just as I started to walk up the stairs,something caught my eye

"Officer Fox,what are you doing?!"
I asked as she pressed the elevator button
"They are possibly getting shot at,and you are using the elevator in the building that's a borderline ruin?!"

"Yeah,I just really hate stairs-" I heard Rae say

"Just move!" I proclaimed,making a gesture with my hand.
We ran up the stairs,and onto the fourth floor

"You know-" Rae started to say,trying to catch her breath "Why don't we call for backup?" She asked.Good question,but unneeded.She's still a rookie,things like that is what I can let slip,can't learn,if you don't ask

"The shooting is higher priority,you know-" I wanted to continue as an older woman trotted up to us,probably the one that called the police

"I heard them yell,both Josh and Kirsten" "They are good people,they just live in a troubled marriage"

"Who doesn't" Gail said,in an annoyed voice as she ran up to the door,I quickly kicked the door,only for it to come swinging open
We made our way into the living door as we took out our guns

"Drop your weapon and put your hands where I can see them!" I yelled as I licked my gaze at the man,holding a gun,I couldn't tell which gun was it,something older
A quick glance at Rae's direction and I knew that she did everything I did,everything I told her to do.Great for her first time on the job

After the man didn't drop the gun I knew I had to do something "Look man,you have nowhere to go" I lowered my gun,but Rae didnt.She was still gripping it, tightly as even,like she's afraid of someone getting shot at

"I'm not-" The man spoke out but started to tear up "I'm not letting her go after everything,every little thing she lied about"

While he speaks,I quickly glance at Rae then,again locked my gaze at the man.Rae looked out of the window
Seconds later I heard a shot,Rae fired into the sky.That was......I don't know what to think about that

The woman screamed and pushed her daughter aside,and the man,from the shock threw the gun aside.before he grabbed it again,I hurried,pushing him against the wall.Just as I was cuffing him,Rae got the woman,and her daughter out of the apartment,across to the apartment of the lady that called us.

As another patrol took the man,I turned to Rae

"What you did was stupid!" I said,my voice getting higher with each word

"Well how else would you have caught him?!" She responded,her emotions unclear

"We would have,just,don't do that anymore,okay!?" I finished the conversation,just as the car door closed,following a loud bump sound
The car infront of us drove away,as I realized I probably shouldn't have reacted the way I did

"How about we stop for lunch now?

"Yeah sure-"
