It's been a couple hours since the news broadcasts started and yet there had been no phone call from Felix. I had sat in a chair facing Anti's bed with the hospital landline located right beside me ready for the call. A nurse was currently checking over Anti, changing his tubes and needles, refilling his medicine packs and checking his stitches for any rips or tears. The doctors said that his recovery was much more advanced than what they had anticipated. Probably all that antiseptic they've been smearing all over his body. That stuff's like miracle growth for that fucker.

I had drowned out the sound of the TV which was reciting the same message over and over again. Doing the same with the nurses quiet whispers, I pulled out my phone from my jean pocket. No messages. Felix had given it back after scanning it for evidence but there wasn't much on it, only a few calls and text but nothing that would hold in court. I went onto photos, scrolling through the many drunken nights out and sunny trips to the beach, stopping when I got to the one. 4th July, stood on the balcony looking out at the fireworks and then I took it. The most beautiful picture of (Y/N). Her hair dancing in the summer breeze, her face illuminated perfectly, her eyes reflexing the explosions, and her smile. Beautiful and gone.

The nurse left sometime after leaving me and Anti alone once again. I looked to Anti laying there silently.

"You know, you always were the smart one. Even though you can be a complete idiot at times you did always have some way to solve everything. To fix my stupid mistakes"

Nothing. Of course, what was I expecting? I leant closer towards Anti putting my hands on the bed sheets around him. Curling it into my fingers slightly.

"Well I need your genius again because I don't know what to do, I don't know how to find her, I don't know how to help her, I don't know how to do anything! Just please open them creepy green eyes and your loud mouth and help me please!"

"Dark?"

I turned my head slowly to see Felix. I sat back up in my chair collecting myself as I did so making sure Felix didn't see me in this way but I think my attempts were futile guessing by the concerned look in his eyes.

"Hey bud"

He started walking closer pulling up a chair from the side and placing it on the other side of the bed.

"Hows h-"

"Do you have any information?"

I cut him off as I didn't want to hear his patronising attempts at comfort.

"Some, you were right there were two vehicles which appeared in both tapes. One being the rusty pickup truck which you got a ride with and another being a semi-large lorry. We've talked to the pickup driver and he's confirmed your story so-"

"For Christ sake who gives a shit what happened to the lorry!"

My anger started to grow with his arrogance and I think he could tell I was getting impatient.

"First of all its evidence and second of all we managed to follow the lorry using a sequence of CCTV cameras allowing us to pinpoint their location to somewhere in Yosemite National Park?"

"Somewhere!? What do you mean somewhere!?"

"Look we've got satellites searching the area, we'll find him it's just a matter of time"

"We don't have fucking time!"

"Egh?"

The new voice silenced the room, we turned to see Antis heart rate increasing and hands shaking. The beeping noise echoed through the walls summoning the doctors and nurse immediately. It wasn't long until the room was consumed by uniforms. Felix and I were pushed outside into the hallway, much to my protest.
