"Alright old man, the project should be shut down by now?" The commander stepped in the room.

Gerald looked back and moved his hand to a button, "Take another step, and I'll release him!"

"A wait, what?!?" Commander and his soldiers stood completely still. "Now, Robotnik d-don't do this to yourself. Let's just talk this through I don't want to do this the violent way again."

"Oh you don't do you? Lie! You were a natural killer at heart aren't you commander!? You just love seeing innocent people die!"

"Hold up there Professor I never said anything like that before."

"No you don't have to! This right here is enough! Shutting down the project that would cure and SAVE millions of innocents! You've just killed them all! And everyone aboard the ARK! Maria! You'll pay for what you did! All of you! PAY I SAY!!" He yelled.

"Robotnik, calm yourself down! I'm only following government orders and safety procedures! What exactly does that button do anyway?"

"A bomb?!" The solders gasped.

"A bomb would be the least of your problems!" Gerald growled, "I've altered my creations purpose. Now instead of protecting this fowl species he'll destroy every last one of you!"

"I see. Alright Professor, you win." Commander put his hands up with a shrug.

"What!?" The solders quickly looked at their leader.

"This isn't about winning!" Gerald's face went red.

"No I know. But you've got us in a pinch. You've become a terrorist threat to the world now. And I know this isn't the true Professor Gerald Robotnik. Look Gerald, all I want to do it talk with you now. If it may be my last words before you set your project out to destroy us all... Just let me talk with you."

Gerald eased his hand away from the button.

"Alright." Commander took a small step forward, "Now look, unlike any Robotnik from your long family line you were one everyone counted on. I'd have to say the first real smart guy in the family. I understand you wanted to help people and your grand daughter. But creating an alien spawn is a little too much extreme. And getting revenge for you grand daughter, will not bring her back any way possible. You've always been a man of reason aye Professor? What will the people half way across the earth think when they are being murdered by your creation? There is no need to go haywire on the whole wold."

Gerald had a mental argument with himself, Commander's speech was correct and deep down he knew it. Some where in his mind he knew and to be a humble man and follow in God's law he must learn to forgive. But this major snap he had, this visual sensation of wires being tangled up to no point of order any more and finally all connections cut, wouldn't allow him to make reason with the Commander and forgive. He stayed silent for a moment more with this internal battle and took off his shaded glasses cleaning them on his lab coat and put them back on his nose.

The commander moved to his side and managed to put him back in cuffs.

"Come now Professor, I really don't want to do this, and maybe if you cooperate, we can set you up in a hospital and calm you down with some medications, and we'll set things right."

His face went red again as he jerked away from the commander, " Hospital!?! Medications!? Calling me insane and sticking me in a nut house is setting things right!?! NO! I refuse! Never!" He fought them trying to make it back to the button.

"Alright then..." Commander kept his stance and held the Professor to keep walking out of the room.

"No! No! SHADOW!!" Gerald called as the door shut to the room leaving Shadow in his state of suspended animation.
