CHAPTER SEVENTEENBusy arranging the flowers in the vase I was surprised with the voice I heard. "Auntie Kathy!" Laurent exclaimed and he run towards me I bend down so he can hug me then kissed my cheek. I love this kid.
"Hello Laurent" and Laureen came after awhile and hugged me too.
"Laureen" and I kissed her.
"Grace" I said and I kissed her cheeks, she's wearing a blue sleeveless top, black skinny jeans, pumps and holding her Louis Vuitton bag.
"What brought you here?" I asked. I waited for Greg to come out from nowhere but he's nowhere to be seen.
"I will actually ask a huge favor, Greg and I will be out of town for two days and we have to leave the kids. Can they stay here?"
I will never disagree to that. "Of course, that will be great, besides I'm not doing much" I'm not doing anything.
"I'm sorry Kathy it's just that Mom and Dad are also not around, I know Tasha have her appointments too, I don't want to leave the kids with their nannies only"
"I understand Grace. Don't worry I'll take care of them like my own" I wish to have my own. I blushed remembering that this weekend we'll be...we'll be...
Grace shot an eye on me. "Why are you blushing?"
I stilled. "Nothing" I stammered.
She leaned on me and whispered. "I heard a lot about your honeymoon. Seems like he's preparing a lot about it" Did she just read my mind?
"I...a..."
She smirked. "Finally, he grew up now. He prepared on every detail about it and I'll guarantee you one thing, he never did it to any woman out there"
"Where are you going by the way?" I asked trying to change the topic. This is awkward.
She threw her head back and laugh "In Africa, Greg has a convention to attend and the kids cannot come with us since they have classes though I want them to come with us."
"They'll be fine here" I assured her.
She sighed. "Sorry for the trouble. I'll make it up to you Kathy, thank you so much" I nodded then she turned to talked to the kids.
"Behave properly here okay? Auntie Kathy will look after you, don't give her a headache. Be good."
"Yes mommy" Laurent answered.
"Look after Laureen okay? You're the big brother remember"
"I will mommy" he promised.
"Mom has to go now." And she kissed them, having a hard time leaving.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of them, you'll come back tomorrow anyway" I smiled.
Grace kissed her kids once more. "It's really hard to leave your kids. You'll understand that after sometime"
I smiled at her. "Thank you Kathy, I'll make it up to you I promise" and she started walking out.
"Take care" I said holding the kids at their shoulders. "Bye mom" the kids utter.
When she was totally out I called on Lila. "Lila, please put their things on the guest room please?"
"Yes Kathy" she replied.
I kneeled down at their level, "Hey kids, you want me to show you around?"
"Yes auntie" they said excitedly.
I showed them their rooms; unluckily they couldn't find toys around. Hmm. I wonder if I should buy toys now? Too early for that I guess.
When we got outside they saw our mini golf course where Jeanne plays every Sunday. Laurent excitedly grabbed his football from his nanny. "Auntie can I play football here please?" Who can resist his beautiful eyes?
