Here again. Standing in front of the same door with the little window too see inside.

Now in my suitable uniform, ready to spend my day doing money. What a day, right?

I opened the door and as I was gonna switch on the light I heard her snoring. So I decided that it would be the best to let her sleep peacefully.

And now I'm standing here in the darkness with nothing else to do. I've already checked Instagram and answered all my messages.

I started to daydream with how the job would be like. And trying to make up conversations in my head to explore the things I should say by any means. I wondered how may I get to ask her about the situation of her life right now, like how did you end up here and why pregnant??

I came down from dreamland when I hear the little lion yawn.

She started moving around her bed, dropping the sheets the the floor while hugging her pillow.

Lynae opened her eyes till they landed on me.

"You're early... Good morning" she said with a raspy and morning voice that I found adorable actually.

"Good morning, and yeah I start pretty soon" I wondered if her kindness is because of her being sleepy or that Emma was right.

"Normally the guard stays outside till I wake up, I guess drinking coffee with the mates or something"

"Ohh sorry I thought I might-" I started blushing, this was kinda akward. I just watched her sleeping and straight forward told her, man I do look creepy.

"Hey mate, no probs here. I know I look like the Sleeping Beauty, I know I know" she laughed with mischief

"Are you australian?? Cause you say 'mate' a lot" I tried to stay away form he fact that I cringly, if that's even a word, watched her sleep.

"Oh no no it's just..." she started it with giggles but ended with that dead stare, again those sad eyes are instead of the bright one that should be.

"I'm sorry did I say something wrong?"

"Just reminded things I wish didn't happened"

"Ohh, sorry"

"I'm sorry it happened" she was looking nowhere, staring blankly to her hands.

I didn't know what to say so I just stayed silent like her.

About an hour later they brought her food. She took it as fast as lighting and started to devour everything.

When Lynae was finished she looked at me again.

"I'm sorry for before, I think I made this a bit akward" she stared at me with a guilty face.

"No, no you don't really have to-"

"Yeah I have, it's inconsiderate. Uhm, I say 'mate' a lot because my partner was indeed australian. He used that word ifor everything" now she was smiling, a as serene and clear as a cloudless sky "he ended all his phrases with 'mate'" she was even giggling, it was the face of happiness.

"Oh that explains it, are you still in touch?" I curiously asked.

And like that, as the leaves fall in October, Happiness fell from her to welcome cold and deadly stare, just like yesterday.

"No" simple and short, with no emotion and trembling voice. She was broken. Oh for that word help an enormous weight, for it held too many emotions her tiny being couldn't take.

And that day we didn't say a word after.

The room felt heavy, the air was filled in sadness more than oxygen just like her body.

I whispered a little 'bye' as I left but the only answer I got were multiple sobs. But at that time I could do nothing else than close the door and let the girl cry.

That night I went to meet an old friend of mine. We were buddys on the police academy but we ended drifting apart form each other.

Till yesterday when I told him I finally got a job and he he said we should go celebrate after the first day.
