Chapter 11

After greeting everyone. The unknown guy name was Jordan. He was cute but I'm done with men for a little while I need to focus on my academics and dancing.
"So Layla Bella tells me your a dancer?" Jordan questioned
"Yeah it's my passion"
"Yeah I feel you I play basketball and it's my life you know? Like I don't know what I'd do without it"
"Yeah same" I smiled
We all continued talking until it got pretty late, we all had class tomorrow and we figured it was time to go our separate ways.
"It was nice meeting you Layla" Kaleb said
"You too" I smiled
"Hey uh is it coo if I get your number we should hang out sometimes"
"Yeah sure"
I gave him my number and he left with Jake
"Okaaaay Layla" Bella shouted
"Shut up" I laughed while throwing a pillow at her
"How do you even know Jordan? I asked her
"He's Jake new frat brother"
"Mhm well let's get some sleep we have class in the morning" I stated while yawing
And with that we both fell asleep

After having 4 classes in the morning I was so drained and tired I ended going back to my dorm and taking a nap. To only be woken up by my alarm clock. I had my dance class in 30 minutes I took a 20 minutes nap giving me 10 minutes to get dress into my dancing clothes and walk to the studio since it isn't far. Once arriving at the studio I saw Alexis stretching
"Hey there you are I thought you weren't going to show"'she stated as she bent down to touch her toes
"Yeah I had 4 classes this morning back to back totally forgetting about this class"' I replied
"Damn that's intense"
Our teacher walked in
"Alright guys continue stretching for 5 more minutes and then we'll get started. Everyone nodded and continued to stretch
"So I saw Tre with Olivia lastnight"
"Yeah about that he's not boyfriend"
"I know, I mean figured considering the way you looked at him when he said that y'all were dating at the club but I still saw something between y'all when y'all were dancing"
"We kissed, but he said it didn't mean anything to him so whatever was there is over" I shrugged
"It's okay it's his lost "
She smiled
I smiled back and realized it was his fault I was the best thing that would've ever happened to him he's definitely missing out.
"Alright everyone today we're going to learn a dance that will be performed at the end of the semester showcase" our teacher shouted
"Follow my lead make sure you all have enough room to move around, Alright today we're going to learn a basic 8 count"
"Now I know what your thinking a basic 8 count that's super easy, well let's see if y'all can keep up" she smiled and started clapping
"Let's go started"

"That was intense" I stated
"Hell yeah!" Alexis responded
We both decided to stay after class was over to practice a little more
"Alright let's start again"
We began starting from the beginning. We began to practice a little more until we heard the door open it was Jordan
"Hey I thought you guys could use some food" he smiled
He brought us Panda Express
"I asked Bella what you liked from Panda Express Layla , and Alexis I got your favorite orange chicken with rice and some teriyaki chicken"
"Awww thanks" she kissed his cheek
I raised a eyebrow a bit confused
"I have to go call Lucas real quick I'll be back" Alexis announced and left
"How did you know where we were? Was it Bella?" I asked
"Yeah I was with her and Jake earlier and they said you'd be here practicing with Alexis"
"You know Alexis? You seem familiar with her"
"Yeah she's my cousin" He laughed
"Oh" was all I could say
"Were you a bit Jealous" he laughed while taking a bit of his food
"No I mean I was confused if she was your girlfriend why did you ask for my number"
"I mean I could've asked in a friendly way I can have girls that are friends"
"Right" I responded with a slight embarrassed tone
"But I didn't" he looked up and smiled before eating again
"Alright I'm back" Alexis joined in
"You didn't tell me you were Jordan's cousin"
"You didn't ask, plus I didn't know you knew him"
"Yeah he's Bella's boyfriend frat brother I just met him he other night"
"Auntie Shannon would definitely approve of Layla just saying" Alexis smiled while eating some more. Jordan and I both laughed and continued to eat
After eating we parted separate ways. I ended up going back to my dorm to find my mom sitting on my bed
"Oh my god Mom!!" I shouted in excitement and went to hug her
"Hey baby" she responded with a warm smile god I missed her
"What are you doing here?" I asked still smiling
"I had to come see my baby and how she's doing in college"
"I'm doing great mom how are you? How's Bella Mom?"
"We're both good, we've been hanging out a lot considering both our daughters are out living their lives"
"Let's go to dinner tonight we can catch up I can tell you about all the boy drama" I told her
"Yeah that would be nice, I'll head back to my hotel and we'll meet at this restaurant called Mandina I heard it's good" my mom claimed
"Yeah I'll pick you up from your hotel around 8?"
"Alright honey I love you" she hugged me for a final time and left leaving me a hour to get ready. I took a 20 minute shower, washing my hair putting it in a nice neat bun. And putting natural look of make up. Then putting on a all black jumpsuit and some black heels

I grabbed my keys and headed out the door my mom sent me the address of her hotel and it was a 20 minutes drive. By the time
I arrived it was 7:30 our reservation was at 8 good thing my mom was in the lobby and it didn't take that long for her get in the car and we headed to the restaurant, once we arrived the waiter seated us and took our drink order since we needed a little time to figure out what we wanted to eat
"So have you talk to your father" my mom asked while she took a sip of her drink
"Uh a little we text here and there" I said quietly
"You should really keep in contact He's your father Lay"
"I know I'm sorry Mom" I smiled weakly
"It's fine baby" my mom reached for my hand
"Listen Lay we need talk" she was interrupted by the waiter
"Are you guys ready to order" he stated while prepping to write
"Yes I'll have the crab lafette dish"
"Me too"
The waiter smiled and took our menus, and left
"So Mom what were you saying?" I smiled
"Uh baby this isn't easy for me to say. But I have cancer"
