The day was just beginning as my twin and I walked to his blue car. For some reason he had a strange obsession with the color blue, but I couldn't say much cause I had an obsession with the color green. It had to be sea foam green not too unlike our eyes. We were an odd pair and would be identical if we weren't different genders. We both had messy brown hair that seemed untamable and sun kissed tan skin. The two of us would be starting at a new boarding school soon so we had to leave. Our family had said long tearful goodbyes before we could finally leave. The ride to our new temporary home was a long one, but it was entertaining. Allen, my twin, was flamboyantly gay and talked to me the entire ride about boys and clothing. He already had a boyfriend who was also shipped away to the boarding school we were going to attend but that didn't stop him from talking about others. The conversations we had were special in more than one way. To explain it all and fully understand you have to know our past. When we were not even two years old there was a fire that consumed our house. My mother had grabbed Allen and got out while my father grabbed me. Only he never got a chance, the fire had gotten too bad making part of the roof collapse on top of him, he never made it out. I had been crying in my crib which saved me. The firefighters climbed through the window and rescued me. Only when they got me out no sound was coming from my mouth despite the look of me crying. Later the doctors told my mother I had damaged vocal cords and none of them could figure out why. They guessed that I already had bad vocal cords and the smoke mixed with crying damaged then. Ever since I had been going through speak rehabilitation but even with the therapy I had yet to even utter a single word. Allen learned sign language for me so we could talk but in the car it was difficult. We kept conversation simple with a system of taps or I'd flip through the radio for a song that expressed how I felt. It helped us become closer with each other. Although by the time Allen parked the car we were very glad to get out and have a break from each other. The campus was huge and spacious. In front was the main building with all the junior high through high school classes as well as the dining hall and on either side were the dormitories; girls on the right and boys on the left. All three were huge and covered in red brick with a terra cotta tile roof. The buildings created a U-shape which housed a commons filled with vegetation, beautifully landscaped and places to sit and rest. Just behind the boy's dormitory you could see part of a football field while behind the girl's there were stables. The gym was by the football field, housing a volleyball court, basketball court and a weight room. Each sport had their own private locker room and every dorm which housed 4 per room had its own bathroom. Allen and I look up in awe at the school grounds till a certain blonde jumped my poor unsuspecting brother. Jason, his boyfriend, was hugging him around the waist. "Hey Atlanta you take care of Allen over the summer?" He asked not letting his victim lose in spite of many protests. I nodded and grabbed out bags and headed to our room, weaving through a lot of people. The headmaster had been very kind about letting us stay in the same room because I couldn't speak yet. Before I could even get to the room we shared in the boy's dorms someone ran into me. I almost glared at him but all I could do was stare and it seemed like it was the same for him. He had messy looking short black hair along with a pale complexion. His eyes stood out the most, in a vibrant yet at the same time soft blue. He came to his senses first and helped me up off the ground. Before I could stop him he was carrying the bags and leading me to my first floor room. I let us into the room, it was smaller than the others but that was because only my twin and I were going to sleep there with no one else. The boy set the bags down before turning to me. "I'm so sorry for knocking you down, my name's Nico" he apologized.
