Nico's POV *Three days later*
Leo, Jason, Annabeth and I all sat around Percy's hospital bed. almost his entire body was wrapped in red stained gauze, and the heart monitor seemed to be taunting me with every beep. Jason had an arm around Leo, who had tears streaming down his face. Yesterday he had told me that he and Leo had started dating and that he was sorry for being so hostile towards me.
None of us had spoken nearly the entire time we were here, and that's been a few hours. "I'll be right back." Jason whispered, kissing the top of Leo's head and walking out of the room. I watched him leave, then turned my attention back to Percy.
His skin was gaunt, his eyes sunken with dark bags. His cheekbones stuck out what seemed like inches from his lack of food, and his lips were pale and chapped. For the first time in his life, Percy Jackson looked weak.
The heart monitor beeped agonizingly slow, like it could quit any minute. "Damn it Jackson..." I whispered bitterly. "Why? Why are you doing this to me?"
Annabeth set a gentle hand on my shoulder, but I shrugged it off. She didn't seem hurt, but instead looked at me with understanding. "Look, Nico. He's probably going to make it out of this coma okay? He's not very deep in, he could wake up any minute." She whispered to me.
"Or never!" I exclaimed. "He could never wake up! He could be stuck in this fucking coma forever!"
Leo looked over at me with sad eyes, looking like he wanted to say something. But he didn't. Jason came back in with five drinks. He handed a Sierra Mist to Annabeth, a Sprite to me, that weird Lime soda to Leo and kept a Dr. Pepper for himself. He set the final bottle, which was water, on Percy's bed stand.
Everyone quietly muttered thank you, but I wasn't in the mood to drink, nor eat, so I set it down beside me. Beep.
Why, Percy, did you lie to us?
Beep.
Why did you hide your pills?
Beep.
Why didn't you tell us you were abused?
Beep.
Why do I hurt, Percy?
Beep.
Please, tell me why I'm hurting so bad.
Beep.
What did you do to me, Percy?
Beep.
Why does my heart ache?
Beep.
You.
Beep.
You're the reason.
Beep.
You're the reason I'm in so much pain.
Beep.
Just staring at you while you're helpless...
Beep.
It hurts so bad.
Beep.
To see you in pain.
Beep.
