Chapter 10

When I woke up it was dark outside and I was still in the hospital. It was still dark outside. Alpha Alexander had moved over to the chair and was sleeping soundly. Nobody else was here, and I couldn't fall back asleep. No matter how hard I try I just can't fall back to sleep.

That's when a dark red glistening light started to shine in from the small hospital window. A manly figure started to form from where the light had landed on the floor. It was the same man from the dark throne room.

"Hello darling." The man said as he stepped towards me. "I know you can talk, you just choose not too. Say 'hi' to me?"

"H-h-hi?" I said questioningly.

"Now that's better, it's been so long little one. I have missed you."

"I-I know you?" I asked.

"Of course you do! You may not remember me but I am one of the most important people in your life."

"H-how?" I asked as I tilted my head.

"That's a story for another time. Till next time darling..." He said as he slowly faded away. Just as he finally disappeared the morning light came through the windows and The Alpha woke up with a grunt and a stretch.

"Good morning love, how long have you been awake?" He asked in a groggy voice.

I shrugged my shoulders and sat up some more.

"Hmm, let me go get the doctor and have him get you ready to go." He said as he got up to leave.

I wasn't alone for long, my brother came in a few minutes after The Alpha had left. At least I wasn't left alone in my thoughts for too long.

"Hey sis! The Alpha had to run and do some pack business, he says it was really important. But he had me talk to the doctor and the doctor says that you can go home today! He will be in in a few minutes to take out the IV and check your head. Then we can go home"

I smiled, but I was still kinda sad that Alexander wasn't here. Pretty soon the doctor came, and unhooked my from the machines.

Dakota had brought food and some clothes. After the doctor disconnected the machines I went to the small connected bathroom and got dressed.
We went to the front desk and saw dad there signing some paperwork.

"Alpha called Dad here to check you out, I just tagged along cuz I wanted to see my favorite little sister!" He said as he laughed and pinched my cheeks. Rolling my eyes and grunting I walked away from him and to the other side of dad.

Dad looked up from the paper work at me and smiled then looked back down and said "We are going to have to stop at the grocery store on the way home for things for dinner. I asked the Alpha if we could have a get together at our house. And Kat, your mom's going to be there so I hope your okay with that. She just wants to see you." He said as he kept flipping pages and signing.

I shrugged, I don't really mind seeing her. Just the way she screamed last time kinda freaked me out. I actually want to meet her and see what's she's like, because I don't really remember that much.

"Okay then it's set," he said as he handed the clipboard back the the nurse behind the counter, "let's head out."

Walking into the store was cool. So. Many. Candies. I just can't take it! I want all of them....

That's when Dakota grabbed me and dragged me away from the glorious candies.

"No candies for you! You get really hyper when you have candies!"

I frown and walked away with him looking back at those beautiful treats...

"Did she get stuck in the candy isle again?" Dad asked as we came up to him while he was looking at different types of steak.

"Yeah." Dakota sighed.

Dad hummed in response and we spent the next half hour browsing through the store getting specific ingredients for dinner.

When we got to dad's house we started cooking dinner. Dad and I were outside and he was showing me how to cook a steak on the grill.

"Show me how you get cross marks on the steak?" He said as he handed me the grill tongs.

I grabbed the tongs from him and rotated all the steaks at 45° angle.

"Good good! Now do you remember how baste them?..." He asked with excitement.

I grabbed the giant baster sucky upper thing and squeezed some of the liquid on to the steaks.

"Great!!! Now honey, I'll get the rest and you can go help your brother set up the table."

I nodded and walked through the screen door to see my brother and The Alpha. I missed him. He looked up and smiled at me, I smiled back. I got this feeling I my stomach that I can't describe, it made me feel warm and fuzzy. What is happening to me?

Ugh!

I dropped my smile and went to wash my hands, when I was done washing my hands I came back into the kitchen and sat down in between Dakota and Alpha Alexander. The food was served and we ate. I found out lots about what I had missed. Mother had a sad look when dad told me about the things I had missed.

Soon dinner was done and I was in the kitchen cleaning up with mother, it was a akward silence but kinda calming in a way? I was washing dishes when I felt a cold blade press against my neck. Hot heavy breathing was against my ear that said, "How the hell did you come back!!"

It was her, I thought she had changed from what everyone said she was, but I guess she really didn't want me here.

"Nevermind!! I will find a way to get rid of you again, but this time, FOR GOOD!!" She whisper yelled.
