"Wake up, sleepyhead." My dad said softly as I woke up. When I looked outside the window we were in a small town, a sign said 'Elmore - 3 miles ahead.'

"Why aren't we in Elmore?" I'd ask my parents. "Well, (Y/N), we couldn't make it in time so we stopped at a hotel. Elmore is just 3 miles away from here." My mom replied. "Why did you leave me in the car?" I asked oblivious to the fact that they probably just carried me. "We carried you, pumpkin. Now buckle up, trooper." Dad said. I buckled my seatbelt and we drove off and eventually passed the sign.

Before I knew it we were in Elmore, it was a peaceful place and the people looked friendly enough. We arrived at the new house. I hopped out of the car and anxiously waited for my parents to get out of the car and unlock the door. They were always really slow for some reason.

After what seemed like forever, my parents unlocked the door and we were in the house and it was amazing! We had a second story like my mom promised, a indoor balcony, a... FLATSCREEN TV?! I knew my parents were wealthy and all, but that TV looks really expensive. I guess it came with the house. I looked around the kitchen after looking at the living room. Most of the cabinets were empty. One cabinet contained some plastic cups and plastic silverware. Our kitchen also  had a large window and some built in wares including a dish water, sink, stove, y'know, the normal stuff you'd see in a kitchen. I then explored the upstairs and decided to choose a room up here, to get to my room I had to go through a really creepy hallway though.

"Mo-o-om!" I yelled from the indoor balcony, "I'm gonna take the bedroom upstairs, okay?" I yelled.

After getting comfy and unpacked we heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it! I'd say, walking to the door and opening it.
Standing before me was a blue cat wearing a sweater and some jeans.

"Can I help you?" I asked. "Yes, actually. My mom sent me over with some cookies to celebrate you moving in." The cat said, before gingerly giving me the basket. "Thanks! What kind?" I'd ask, "Chocolate chip, the good stuff!" He'd say. "I know right? Chocolate chip cookies are the best." I agreed with the cat, afterwards there was an awkward silence. "Well, bye." He waved before walking away, "Bye, Thanks again." I'd say before shutting the door and putting the basket of cookies on the kitchen counter.

I'm starting to like this place more and more.
