Sorry it took so long for me to update but I'm back! Enjoy a new chapter and more to come!! ❤️
Richie stood in front of eddies familiar house as the wind tangled with his curls and made eddies nose turn pink.
Richie loved the way eddies cheeks turned a bright cherry pink with freckles sprayed on his nose like speckled paint. It was beautiful.
Eddie looked up at Richie with those beautiful puppy eyes and he looked almost as if he was going to say something, his mouth partially open, but he retracted, and looked back at his Velcro shoes.
"Thank you for walking me, Richie" he said softly as the cold breeze froze his body.
"Anytime, buttercup," and Richie smiled as he playfully pushed a piece of Eddies hair out of the way. Eddie smiled and turned even more red, but Richie failed to notice.
The asthmatic teen looked wearily at his house and just before he turned on his heels to walk back inside, he looked up at Richies eyes once more, grabbed one of his hands with both of eddies and squeezed tightly. It was a soft grip with ice cold hands that made Richies heart jump to his throat and his face heat up.
The boy walked away without a word and carefully slipped into his dark house as Richie remained on the street, his mind exploding as he relived the moment over and over, trying to think if it actually happened. It did.
Richie practically skipped home as he consistently relived the last couple hours, right down to Eddie grabbing Richies hand. He couldn't stop thinking about those golden eyes framed by sprinkles of freckles and auburn brown locks of hair, Richie was almost obsessed.
But he would never tell a soul, he told himself. No one can know Richie Tozier has a crush on a guy.
Imagine the look on your friends faces if they found out he thought. Imagine how weirded out they would be, do you really think they would still hang out with you?
Richie continued to let his anxiety yell at him inside his mind as he entered his empty home, his insecurities shouting that eddie would never even like Richie back anyway.
He shuffled into the kitchen as he popped a bag of popcorn into the mircrowave, the teen didn't really bother with sleeping anymore anyway. His insomnia or panic attacks would wake him up eventually so what's the point of even going to bed?
He pushed away some empty beer bottles and sat up on the counter as he ate through a bag of popcorn, he sat in the same spot Eddie did just days earlier. That idea made him happy.
As happy thoughts of Eddie sooner warmed the teens heart, he finished off the popcorn and fell lazily asleep on the couch, too tired to go upstairs.
But God would he regret that when his father came barging in that morning at 7 am.
Richie didn't wake up the sound of the door slamming, but he definitely woke up to his father grabbing him by his arm, his nails making deep scars in his skin, as he pulled rich off the couch and threw him on the kitchen floor, his glasses flying off his face and his head slamming into the floor.
"Shit!- oh god, dad.." The teen woke up to his father standing over him, Richies heart dropped to his stomach as he looking with shaking eyes at went.
"What the fuck aren't you at school? You think I pay for you to go to school to just sleep all day?" He spat at Richie as his eyes stared scars into his sons mind.
"You don't pay for it, it's a public school..." Richie whispered as he stared as his shaking hands as he remained laying on the floor, he was just about to push himself back up when his father lunged at Richie.
"Excuse me?" His voiced boomed through the house and he took a step at Richie, wrapping his hand around the teens skinny arm, squeezing so tight it cut off his circulation, and pulled Richie to his feet and threw him against the wall to their left.
Richies entire body slammed into the dry wall, his knee making a very obvious and large hole in the wall as his face hit a shelf, he felt tears well up in his eyes but they didn't fall. He was going to let his father beat him up until he could get away.
Went's eyes held rage in them as he stared at the new hole on the wall made by Richies knee cap.
"What the fuck! You fucking dumbass, you made a fucking dent in the wall!" He screamed as Richies eyes flickered from the hole to his father face.
"I-I'm sorry!....it wasn't really my fault though" Richie said, his voice becoming a whisper as he got to the end of that sentence.
"You're fucking garbage, you ruin everything, don't you?" His father spat as he walked slowly up to Richie, as the teen stood frozen in his spot. His father approaching slowly.
"I-I'm sorry.." The teen whispered as he looked down to his feet, inches in front of him laid his glasses that fell of his face.
Went stopped in front of Richies glasses and Placed his foot ontop of them, pushing down until a loud snap echoed off. Richies eyes flickering with tears as he watched his only pair of glasses be smashed by his father.
Went pushed his face inches next to Richies "get to school you shit," he spat and he placed his hand on Richies chest and pushed him away. Richie tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground again, as went walked away to grab another beer.
The teen jumped up and grabbed his two pieces of eyeglasses off the floor and ran as fast as he could to the door, slamming it behind him as his tears blurred his vision even more.
Richie ran down the street and didn't stop, tears streaming down his cheeks as his lungs burned through the cold air and goosebumps raised his arm hair.
He ran to the only place he knew he could find the boy who could make him happy. He ran to Derry high school as he wiped his tears away with the back of his hand, he then rubbed his arm which now held new bruises from his dad.
He walked past the front doors as the empty halls echoed his footsteps, he made his way to his locker and opened it. A small cracked mirror hung on the locker door, so he looked in it as he tied his hair into a lazy bun on the top of his head, he stared at all the old and new bruises on his face and sighed.
Richie slammed his locker door shut and leaned against his, slumping his back into the cold metal as he reached into his pocket to pull out a box of matches and a cigarette.
At the point Richie could care less about getting in trouble at school, another detention wouldn't phase him, so he placed the cigarette on his chapped lips and let the end catch flames and he breathed in.
The teen was half through his cigarette when the bell rang for the next class, he jumped slightly out of excitement and put the cigarette out on his locker door and waited for Eddie to walk out of one of the classroom doors.
His face broke into a smile as the boy pushed his way through the classroom door and tried to avoid getting shoved by an upperclassman, he gripped tightly onto a folder and turned his head to see Richie standing just feet away.
