there was a lot of weed."patrick?"
the two were lying in the snow, staring at the single stars that you can barely see in the light polluted sky. pete likes to make wishes one of them, patrick knew it was just a satellite but he wouldn't say anything. he knew better not to.
but if you stare at the sky for long enough, you can see little hints of actual ones.
"yeah pete?"
pete held onto the other's wrist. as closure, one would presume.
"do you ever look up at the stars and feel like they're tiny holes in the sky, sucking out all the oxygen?"
it fell quiet, but merely for a few seconds, "suddenly you can't breathe because you're thinking about how small you are, and- and how meaningless it all is?"
patrick held onto pete's wrist back, intertwined on the cold ground for what felt like ages.
patrick also never answered pete's question.
it didn't matter anyway.
