"You... you don't remember me?" David's voice quivered, and he reached up to touch her cheek.
She shook her head, and felt a cool metal band on her cheek, and when he pulled his hand back, she noted that it was a small sliver wedding ring. And when his eyes teared up, and he smiled sadly, kissed her cheek, and left the room, she touched her cheek where he'd kissed her and noticed that she had a duplicate of his ring on her own finger.
It made her feel queasy, and all of a sudden she didn't feel so good, and her body needed to restore again, and she fell into another phase. Her mind shut off again and supplied her with another memory.
...
"Hullo!" He'd yelled from his lawn. She'd looked up and smiled."Hallo! Come over so you don't have to shout!" She'd replied.
"Alright!" He shouted anyway and came over. "What's your name?"
"Lora, what about yourself?"
"David. Nice to meet you."
...
She didn't wake up. Instead her mind supplied her with yet another memory.
...
They went back to David's apartment and he locked the door. When he held her in his arms, it wasn't sweet and innocent as it was before, this time it was loving and passionate with desire. He kissed her deeply, and felt her kiss back. Their tongues danced together in harmony and suddenly, her legs were wrapped around his waist and he was carrying her to the bedroom. He closed the door, even though they knew no one would disturb them.
...
She awoke from the shut-off-state, and found the energy enough to stand up and rush to find David. She'd remembered everything.Where was he? Why was there music playing? She raced out of the room and down the hallway. He wasn't in the living room, nor was he in the kitchen. Not the bathroom. Not even in the painting room.
No. She knew he was in the record room.
She raced to the room and tried the door, listening. He was crying, playing a record too loud. That explained the music. So she knocked on the door, once twice, three times... and he opened it.
He stood at the doorway, tears streaming down his cheeks. But she kissed him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and brought her lips to his.
He was surprised at first, but soon his lips responded the same way, his right hand weaving through her hair and his left wrapping around her waist. And when they broke apart, their foreheads touched. His lips brushed hers slightly as he spoke.
"Y-you remember?"
