I was in the car ride on my way to Seattle, Washington, to move in with my mom and my brother because, recently, my parents have divorced. My dad was a complete slob and she knew it, but after he cheated on her, she finally realized he wasn't the one.

I looked out the car's window seeing the light auburn leaves falling off of the trees, hinting that it was already autumn.

"Mom, how long will it be until we get there?" my older brother, Travis, complained. My brother and I are only a year apart, but I'm actually the mature one.

"Just a few more minutes," our mom easily replied, keeping her eyes on the empty road.

"That's what you said about an hour ago," he was right, she did say that an hour ago.

"Relax okay?" she sighed. "We'll be there soon. Talk to Brooke or something."

He looked at me with a disgusted face. "No thank you."

"Gee, thank you," I said sarcastically. "Take a nap or something."

"You know, that's actually a good idea, Brooke. Thank you," he shifted himself in a position that was comfortable. "Wake me up when we get there."

"Travis, stop kicking me!" I winced.

"Then move your fat ass," he argued.

"Travis!" our mom scowled. "Watch your mouth."

"Ha ha," I giggled and stuck my tongue out as if I was 7.

After 2 more long hours of sitting in the car and my idiotic brother kicking me the whole trip, we finally made it to our new house.

"Whoa," Travis and I both simultaneously said. The house was amazingly beautiful. The size was smaller than a mansion, but larger than a two-story house. The exterior was so gorgeous, the trees surrounding the house, the gravel road, it was so marvelous.

"Mom, how could you afford this?" I hugged her tightly around her waist, looking up at her.

"I have my ways," she smirked. "Now come on let's go see our new house."

"Last one in is a Brooke!" Travis yelled and dashed in the house.

I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around my mom, laying my head on her shoulder. "I can't believe you brought him with us."

"Oh hush," she laughed. "But you're right, I don't know why I brought him with us."
