Chapter 12

Tyler's POV

"What the fuck is going on here?" Quentin spit harshly. I flinched at his voice. He sounded incredibly pissed.

Jerome's eyes were wide and he looked like a deer caught in headlights. "I-I", he stammered. "I could ask you guys the same question!!"

"We're supposed to take Mitch back to Minecraftia because..." Suddenly I trail off, because I was struck with a sudden idea.

What if we took back Jerome instead?? I know we agreed to give the potion to Mitch, but Jerome's right here and it would just save a lot of time!

"Um," I stutter, "We need to take Mitch back to Minecraftia, because, uh, he's here in the Hub, and we don't want you to destroy the Hub to? And also we miss you??" My whole speech sounded like a question and I prayed that Jerome wouldn't question it and just believed me.

"Oh my god, Mitch is in the Hub?? Now?!?" Jerome let out a roar of anger and collapsed onto the couch. "I came here to get away from that son of a bitch. God, can't he just leave me alone for once?!?!?"

The dude, Preston I assumed, kneeled down to Jerome's level and started to whisper in Jerome's ear while rubbing his back in a comforting way?

They looked like a couple. A couple with a broken guy, but a couple nonetheless. And they were just making out when we came in. (That was really awkward.)

I looked over at Quentin, and he just looked incredibly mad. His face was red and his eyes were narrowed. I gave him a pointed look, and he glared at me then Jerome.

Finally he shrugged, but still looked mad. "Look, Jerome. Yeah, Mitch is here. So we want the Hub to stay safe, so just come back to Minecraftia with us, ok?"

Jerome looked at us, and for a minute it seemed like he was going to say yes.

But then he turned back around to look at Preston.

"Are these your friends?" I whispered in Jerome's ear, and he gave me the tinest of nods. I was rubbing Jerome's back, like we used to do whenever Mitch yelled at him when we were younger. "Are....are you going to go back with them?" I asked him quietly. He looked at me. "I don't know." He whispered. "I just got you...I don't want to go back so soon. But if Mitch is here..."

I nodded. "I understand. You don't want to see him. That makes sense."

Jerome stayed still. "Um, guys?" He finally said, turning to the other two. "Can you guys wait out in the hall for a minute? I just need to think about it for a moment."

The guy with glasses nodded, and pulled the scowling guy with a mudkip hat on his head out. "Take all the time you need." Glasses-head called out.

The door was shut, and I turned towards Jerome again. "There will be time later, you know." I say quietly. His head turns to me. "What?" He says, looking confused.

"I think you should go back with your friends, they look a little lost without you. And plus Mitch is here. And I know I've literally confessed everything to you only like an hour ago, but I want you to be happy and comfortable, and if staying here with me means you running into Mitch, I want you to go back. Besides there will always be time later to be together. But just go try to figure this thing out with Mitch, ok?"

I don't want him to go. It makes me feel even more lonelier than I have in the past four years. But it's always been my job to keep this bacca happy. And I think going back with his friends will do it, even though they might not be on good terms with each other.
