"Good morning, Harley!" Layla greeted him with a wide smile on her face. She pushed her goggles back and dropped her cannon onto the ground. It landed with a booming thud that caused the floor underneath Harley to shudder. Her long, golden pigtails fluttered lightly in the wind. A couple people had even nicknamed Layla as "Rapunzel 2.0" because of the sheer length of her hair.

"Morning, Layla," Harley replied nonchalantly as he reached his white-gloved hands up to straighten his large hat, which was nearly half the curly-haired boy's size. "Where are you heading off to?"

"Back to my workshop. I moved it into my office, since I've been spending so much time there these days." Layla pushed her bangs out of her golden eyes, trying to stifle a yawn. "By the way, anything new or exciting happen to you?"

"No, just the usual." Harley watched as Layla slung her enormous gun back over her shoulder with ease. He wondered just how much weight she could actually lift. Gun or no gun, he certainly didn't want to pick a fight with her. However, Layla rarely got mad at anything, even with his best attempts to annoy her in the past. Perhaps that was why she was a part-time therapist.

"Alright, I better get going now," Layla said. "Come see me if you have any problems! Teenage years can be very emotional!" Harley rolled his eyes at that. With a quick wave, she rushed off towards the Main Center of their homeland. Harley, on the other hand, took a different path that lead to the tech area.

The tech area was basically where all the mechanical geeks hung out. New, fancy gadgets were constantly built out of simple and ordinary scraps. Someone even created a time-travel nest. Harley certainly had no talent with mechanics, but almost all of his close friends were there. Plus, it was entertaining to blow up everything in sight with their lasers.

Soon, a large, igloo-like shape loomed overhead. Different sections of the walls outside constantly danced from one color to the next, as if they couldn't decide on a single shade. Some even winked out and turned transparent. A large camera swung its head, watching every move Harley made. He flipped it the finger before running off, snickering mischieviously. As he approached the entrance, the glass double doors hissed open automatically, hesitantly inviting him in.

Right before he entered the building, a blue sports car zoomed past, nearly crashing into him. He barely had enough time to jump back before a wrench wizzled past his head. Harley spotted Saber and Alpha running around, trying to dodge and avoid an unfortunate ending involving a rogue vehicle.

He glanced over towards his left to see a lean, brown-skinned guy who was about two or three times taller than him. His blond hair was shaved on the sides of his head with a lightning bolt imprinted on them. A golden-tinted visor hid his eyes, and his black T-shirt was partially covered with white armor. In the center lay a pulsing blue crystal. He laughed as an elf with orange hair playfully punched his mechanical leg at something he had said. The boy suddenly looked over and spotted him standing at the doorway.

"Hey, it's Harley! What's up?" His friend Bruno grinned as he sprinted over. The elf followed a few steps behind him.

"I haven't seen you guys in a long time, so I decided to stop by," Harley responded, trying not to show any signs of mischief. Bruno, however, saw right through his act.

"Oh, no you won't. Not this time. I planned ahead and hid every life-threatening weapon I could find," he said, shaking his head. "I swear, some day you're going to kill everyone here with your careless pranks." Harley only smiled, knowing that there was at least something Bruno missed. If not, then he could always make use of the flower cannon.

"Really, Johnson?" The two of them glanced over momentarily as Diggie, nicknamed the "watchbird" for his love of clocks, frantically flapped away as the car crashed into the wall next to him. It folded up, transforming into a large, armored human.
