"Um..." Astrid tried to call for her sisters attention but she was already on the phone, probably gossiping.

The carriage just left, taking her father and other sister away from her. Cleo is already strutting off with her ghoul friends.

"Did she already forget about me?" She questioned out loud.

She took a deep breathe before walking into the school. Many students she walked by stared at her and took out their phones.

"Oh my ghoul. Do they already hate me?" Astrid mumbles to herself.

She walked faster down the halls, holding her books close to her chest as she hurried to her first class

Taking a peak at her schedule, she looks around.

"Ah. Here it is." She smiles in relief, happy to escape the stares her new schoolmates gave her.

She walks into the classroom and looks around. Only a few monsters we're here, making her more relieved.

She took a seat in the back row, placing her books down as she buried her head in her arms.

Minutes went by and more monsters and ghouls filled into the classroom. She could feel them look at her and hear them whisper. She didn't know what they were saying but she was convinced it wasn't good.

"Hey." A timid voice spoke.

She let's out a tiny gasp before looking up. A kitty ghoul stood before her. She had ginger furr, red hair, and electric blue eyes. Two cat ears sat up top her head.

She was pretty adorable looking.

"Hello?" Astrid's greeting came out as a question.

"Sorry to bother you but...are you related to...Cleo De Nile?" She asks gently.

Astrid turns towards her fully. "Yeah. She's my big sister."

Before the girl could say anything else, the bell rang.

Students quickly took their seats as the teacher walked in.

The girl took a seat next to Astrid, glancing at her once in awhile during class.

As the day went on, the young De Nile caught onto the rumours circling through monster high. They're saying Astrid De Nile is gonna be the new Cleo De Nile.

"Once Cleo graduates Astrid is gonna take over the school." A ghoul whispered as Astrid walked down the halls to the cafeteria.

"Monster high is never gonna get rid of the queen bees." Another ghoul whispered back.

"First Nefera, then Cleo, now Astrid? What's the deal? We're never gonna be home free of diva's." A boy whispered.

These kinds of whispers continued on as she made her way to the cafeteria. Each one she heard either made her feel hurt or wonder what kind of reputation her older sisters had in this place.

She made it to the cafeteria, got her lunch and quietly thanked the lunch lady.

She came to a stop and looked around for a place to sit.

She silently prayed Cleo would show herself and invite her to sit down but so far, she wasn't in sight.

Just as she was gonna give up and take the risk of sitting at some random groups table, she spotted that ghoul from earlier sitting alone at a table in the furthest corner.

They seemed friendly enough earlier, and they are alone so it made it less intimidating to sit with her, they didn't have to talk so that was a win.

Astrid took a deep breathe, and marched over.

Monsters and ghouls took notice of her and began to whisper.

As she walked by a table, she heard some whispers that caught her attention.

"She gonna go sit Braix."

"I wonder how that's gonna turn out."

"Cleo and Toralei don't get along. Maybe this two won't either."

"Let's hope so. We don't need them teaming up to take over the school."

Braix?

Was that her name?

Once the kitty girl noticed her coming her way, she smiled a small smile as Astrid did the same.

They sat far away from one another. Her on one end, and Astrid on the other. They just ate in silence, taking small glances at each other once in awhile.

The whispers eventually calmed down for the time being, leaving Astrid relieved.

The ghoul giggled. Astrid looks at her and she stops laughing.

"Sorry. You just look so relieved." The ghoul smiled shyly.

Astrid returned it, "Yeah. It's really bothering, you know?"

The two are in silence again.

Astrid decided to say something. "Hey...I just noticed something."

The ghoul titled her head. "Hm?"

"Our hair is almost the same." Astrid pointed out.

The ghoul began to laugh, as did Astrid.

"You're right. I'm Braix Stripe." Braix moved further down the table, reaching out a hand.

Astrid moved down as well, "I'm Astrid De Nile. Though, you might already know that."

Braix giggled, "Yeah."

Just then the announcements came on.

"Attention students. The lost and found is now closed for the time being. If you have not grabbed your lost things, I'm sorry to say this but that chance is over. Students are now free to grab what they wish." Then it turned off.

Braix leaned over, "I was gonna go check what's there. Wanna come along?"

Astrid smiles, "Okay."

The girls got up and placed their trays at the little return table before running off.

Again, monsters and ghouls began to whisper but they chose to ignore it.

They came across the lost and found and began to look around.

They goofed around when seeing funny things.

Braix found a fake mustache, and pretended to be a collage professor. Astrid found a long cloak, and pretended to be the stereotypical vampire. They both even found large glasses and made silly faces in them. It's childish, but they didn't care. This was too much fun.

"Hey look." Braix holds up two scarfs.

Astrid's face breaks into a bright smile, "Woah. They kinda match."

One is pink and the other is teal.

"Yeah." Braix agrees.

They stand in awkward silence for a moment.

"So uh...want one?" Braix holds the pink one out.

"Is that okay?" Astrid asks, hesitating when taking the scarf.

"Yeah." Braix nods, loosely tying the teal one around her neck.

Astrid does the same.

The both run off to the ghouls restroom and stand in front of the mirror.

"We look good." Astrid says, doing a few poses.

"Definitely." Braix takes a few selfies of herself before taking a few of the two of them.
