We don't have any idea what time we woke up in this island. I can only guess what time it is due to the position of the sun and I'd say, it's only a little early in the afternoon. The rays weren't as harsh as I first woke up which I would guess would be around noon.
Good thing my clothes are already dry so I put my pants back on and headed to where Caitlin is to lend her my shirt. She's still in the position I left her earlier, staring at the shore deep in thought. I slowly made my way up to her and waved my hands gently so I won't startle her.
"Cait?"
Her eyes slowly turned to me but her body still faces the shore. "Hmm?"
"My shirt is already dry. You can change now."
She nodded, "Thanks."
She timidly reached for my shirt which I offered with an outstretched hand, noticing she's still not too comfortable with me tiptoeing around her personal space. As she disappeared behind a huge tree, I started rummaging the duffle bag in search of tools that I can use to build a makeshift shelter and hunt for food later.
I know I made it sound easier than it's going to be, like I'm some professional boy scout knowing everything about surviving in a deserted island but deep down I feel like it's gonna take sometime for me to learn the ropes around here. What I'm sure of is that I'm gonna have to be strong or even just pretend to be, so I could keep Caitlin safe and sound.
Good thing I'm forced to spend many summers with the Queens and their annual camping trip so it's safe to say that I have quite a knowledge about what to use as resources. Smiling in triumph as I found a long sharp knife in the bag, I immediately tested it at the nearby branch. My smile getting wider as the knife cut through the branch with ease.
The sound of footsteps made me look up, excited to tell Caitlin that it's only a matter of time before I could build some sort of a shelter for us.
"Hey, look. I found this knife in the bag and-"
For a moment, I lost the ability to speak because of the sight before me. Caitlin is wearing my shirt like I told her to and I shouldn't have been surprised but actually seeing her in my clothes again, brought back a lot of memories to me.
It was one of those rare mornings where I get to wake up next to the love of my life. Her mother was very strict when it comes to her daughter, forcing us to keep our relationship a secret from her so we never really got much opportunities to be alone. Luckily, her mom went on a business trip for a week, meaning we'd get to spend time with each other some more without the fear of getting caught.
Last night had been very special for the two of us and I couldn't wait to open my eyes to see my angel tucked into my side as I remembered her being there when I went to sleep just a few hours ago. Unfortunately, she wasn't there when I woke up so I immediately searched for my clothes and put them back on, only to find my shirt missing.
I rushed downstairs, finding her in the kitchen with nothing but my button up shirt as she swayed from side to side, singing adorably out of tune in time with the music on her phone. The sight was very amusing for me, catching me off guard by the simplicity of her beauty but what really gained my attention is the fact that she looks drop-dead gorgeous in my clothing. It makes me feel things from the inside, joy swelling up within me knowing that she's mine and only mine.
I made my way to her and hugged her from behind, leaving subtle love bites on her neck as I couldn't resist seeing her like this. She lets out a melodious giggle and I wasn't strong enough to stop myself from ravaging her at that moment so I did. And let's just say, the kitchen was a total mess after I was done with showing her just how much I love her.
