"Hello? Bridget?" I asked as someone finally answered the phone.
Bridget: Maddie? Is that you?
Me: It is. Hey, guess what?
Bridget: What?
Me: Or should I keep it a surprise instead?
Bridget: Maddie! No, please tell me now.
Me: I'm transfering to your school. :D
I could feel and hear the excitement in her voice when she heard this.
Bridget: OMG! Really?
(I seriously could almost see her jumping up and down from excitement. I definitely heard it and I honestly wanted to do the same.)
Bridget: I can't wait for you to meet my class! I'm sure they're going to like you. I'll show you around the school, introduce you to everybody, and help you with everything.
( This is why I loved her so much. She was such a kind and caring person that helped everyone out. She was also there whenever we needed her. She was 1 year older than me and was like an older sister to me. I've known her since I was 3 and we've been very close ever since.)
Me: Thank you for everything, Bridget. You're the best!
Bridget: Don't mention it. You're the best friend I've ever had. It's the least I can do. I have to go, but I have one more question to ask before I do.
Me: You're my best friend too, but i really don't understand why you like me. Everyone hates me. And yes?
Bridget: Don't say that. You're liked by more people than you think. I like you because you're Maddie and I wouldn' have it any other way. Anyway, when are you coming to school?
Me: I'm not sure yet, but I'm thinking sometime next week. Thank you, Bridget. You're an amazing friend.
(Bridget always found a way to make me feel special :D)
Bridget: Thank you, Maddie, for being my BFF.
Me: So I'll see you soon?
Bridget: ( I could definitely see her smiling.) Very soon. Bye, Maddie.
Me: Ok, Bye ( I smiled to myself and then put the phone down. )
(The Next Morning 8:15 AM)
"Maddie!" mom called from downstairs. "I'll be waiting for you in the car. Hurry up if you want me to sign you out and talk to your teacher before school starts!" "Yes, mom!" I yelled from my room and then I heard the door close. I looked at my reflection in the mirror to make sure that I looked presentable on the last day. I wore a blue knee length skirt and a white t-shirt. "At least an ungly person like me can make themself somewhat presentable." I thought sadly to myself. I picked my backpack up from my bed and ran downstairs. "Maddie!" I heard my mom calling from outside. I sighed and then yelled back. "I'm coming!" (My mom could really be impatient sometimes.) I went into the kitchen, picked my lunch bag up, and ran out the door.
(A few min. later)
"Go to your classroom. I'll sign you out and talk to the teacher as fast as I can because I have to go to work." My mom told me as we got to the entrance of the building. The school wasn't small at all, but it wasn't the biggest school either. "Ok, mommy." I said with a smile. Thank god it was my last day at that place. She gave me a hug and kissed me on the cheek. "Oh, and make sure you hand your books in. She gave me one last kiss and went into the office which was right next to the entrance. I looked at her one more time with a smile and then I went to my classroom.
