"What's going to happen with all of that, anyway?" Monica asks, while I run around cleaning and she sits on the couch in luxury, watching me.
"I don't know. Nothing, probably." I say. "I'm kind of done with guys treating me like shit, and that's all Michael is for me."
"He was so nice before he cheated on you, though." She whines, "Remember he got you a bunny? What happened to that little guy?"
"He ran away," I shrug, tying my hair up. "And I'm pretty sure buying a girl a bunch of stuff is how asshole guys are given the title nice. He wasn't nice, just clever."
"You're right. Why is your love life overflowing and mine is like when a camera zooms in on a bug digging around in the desert?"
I grin, "My love life is not overflowing. My ex follows me around school with comebacks that are just cliches in romance movies, and I flirt with my neighbour through my window, who I can't even date legally."
"At least guys like you." Mon shrugs, "But it's okay, you can be the bug next to me that keeps digging into the same rock over and over."
"Comforting." I nod.
The doorbell rings, so I open it to Calum's delightful face. "Yes?"
"I need sugar."
"You're kidding."
"I'm really not, I have a friend over and he likes sugar on his toast."
"That's... Gross?"
"Very gross, yeah. Do you have any?"
"Uh, sure, wait here."
While I'm in the kitchen debating how much sugar a person could possibly need for a piece of bread, I hear Monica talking to Calum. Oh, good. She's probably telling him I'm ready for the wedding. I take a zip lock full of sugar and walk over to the door with it.
"That's excessive." Calum laughs, taking the bag from me. "How did you close this?"
"I did my best, it's toast and sugar, I doubt there's logic involved." I smile, then look at Monica. "You didn't say anything embarrassing?"
"Nah, she was just showing me all of your baby pictures."
"Oh, good."
"Thanks for this," He gestures to the bag, "I now have enough sugar to supply all of my needs for the rest of my life."
"Happy to be of service," I laugh. Then he leaves and I shut the door. "You didn't really show him my baby pictures, right?" She laughs and walks back to the couch. "Monica?"
