A strange feeling surged through my veins. The rage lifted my body up like a plastic bag in the wind and I grabbed my blue backpack, stuffing everything that was essential into it. Lastly, I grabbed my blanket off my bed along with the picture of my mom and brother.

I had to be quick about this. He would probably be back up anytime soon. Quickly, I put on my shoes and hoodie.

As I said my final goodbyes to my room, I realized my dad had been outside cleaning off his truck. This was my opportunity to sneak out the back and get away.

I decided before I left to go in his room and swiftly grab his savings money from his drawer. Overall I remembered it had been $425.

Finally, I grabbed waters from the fridge, as I had no idea where the hell I should go.

I then heard footsteps on the front porch and made a bee-line to the back door. I didn't even feel nervous, this felt right.

I ran out the back and through the open grassland. The wind in my long Y/H/C hair felt amazing. It honestly felt like a weight off of my chest.

I heard faint yelling of my name behind me and kept sprinting faster and faster.

He was finally in the past.

After walking many miles, I made it to the nearest town. I definitely needed a break. The only place I could spot to take a break at was a coffee shop by the name of Dino's Coffee Corner.

Once I walked in, the smell of coffee calmed my senses and I finally took a breath of relief. I sat down in the farthest corner of the shop and waited to be served.

"Hi, I'm Dinah, may I take your order?" The tall waitress asked.

"Yeah, I'll just take a straight black coffee." I sighed.

"Tough day?" She asked as she put her hands in her apron pockets.

"You have no idea..." I rubbed my forehead.

"Sorry to hear that," She frowned, "I'll be right back with your coffee."

Once she came back with my coffee, she sat down on the other side of the booth to my suprise.

"You seem mysterioso, and since it's about 11pm at night, and I'm most likely not serving anyone else, let's chat." She put her chin in her hands and gave me full attention.

"Uhhh, well. I'm Y/N and a 17 year old girl who just left home." I blatantly said.

"Damn, a rebel huh?"

"I don't even know why I'm telling you this but you seem okay I guess," I shrugged, "My father was a dickhead and very abusive, so I left."

"Oh... shit. I'm sorry G." She frowned.

"I'm out of there now right? I just have nowhere to go now." I said.

"I mean, if you really need to crash somewhere I can help you out. I'm already rooming with someone else though." She offered.

"I don't wanna be a bother." I said.

"Bruh, you're not gonna be a bother. You just need somewhere to crash and I'm offering."

"Fine."
