Paul and his wife had gotten a nasty divorce the year before the hockey game. During this time they had a custody battle over the children. Because of past anger issues that Paul had since gotten control over, his ex-wife got custody over both of his children.
His ex-wife, Tami, remarried a man named Brad. Paul only got supervised visits with his children on the weekends, and he was sad that Brad was filling the hole that Paul was forced to leave in his children's lives.
The court also allowed Paul to watch his children's hockey games. Paul was so excited to finally be able to support his kids. He showed up to the game 30 minutes early. When Brad showed up with the kids fashionably late he was wearing a cardigan around his neck and was holding a reusable Starbucks coffee cup. Brad walked up to Paul for what Paul thought was a handshake, instead Brad walked passed him saying in a petty tone,
"I'm their daddy now"
Paul was angry but after years of anger management classes he was able to calm down for a brief moment. The game began immediately the his son's team jumped out to an early lead, but upon entering the 3rd period they were down by one. He continued to watch the hockey game but was slowly becoming angrier and angrier. With just 30 seconds left in the game, his kid was fouled and his son fell to the ground... hard.
This was the last straw for Paul.
He walked up to the glass and hit it as hard as he could not worrying about the repercussions of his actions, just releasing his anger hoping to be relieved of some eternal pain that he kept pent up within him. Immediately he felt the glass crumble in his mortal hands and with the glass fell his hope of ever getting custody of his children ever again.
Brad was elated to see Paul fail yet again. He immediately stood up and yelled to the crowd...
"Way to go Paul"
while sipping his sweet tea.
After the game Paul tried to talk to his children, but now even they were scared of him. Brad took the children home after the game.
Paul never did get custody of his children ever again, thanks to his anger issues
and oh ya also because of Sassy Brad too.
THE END
