The work day was going fine so far. Camila gave another cone of lemonade ice cream to a little girl with pretty red hair and one to her father.

"Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day!" She finished with her pretty smile.

The father paid, thanked her, and left holding his daughters' hand; the tiny girl was already getting ice cream all over her face. Camila leaned on the counter and grinned.

"Whoo! 8th one today, I told you this new flavor would be a hit!"

I was busy with a mixture for mint chocolate chip ice cream, and Chloe was making waffle cones with chocolate and sprinkles on them. I paused stirring the ice cream when my face turned red.

"It's no big deal, it's just some ice cream..." I said slowly.

"But it's so yummy! Really, you could make a living with it!" Chloe said while dipping some cones in chocolate sauce.

"She's right! I bet you'd be awesome!" Camila winked.

I know they mean well, but I couldn't help but be a little annoyed. Ice cream was fun to make, and funner to eat, but it just wasn't my life... the buzzer on the timer went off. It was time for my break. I put the tub of ice cream in the freezer and hung up my apron.

   "See you guys,"

The girls called their goodbyes as I exited the gift shop. Krysta wasn't in the usual place today; I recall her saying she was assisting with the pandas today, so I went toward that exhibit. It was quite a walk away from the gift shop I worked in, but I didn't mind. I liked getting glimpses of the animals. Just as I neared the Panda Exhibit, a few small cries caught my attention.

It looked like an elementary school group was visiting today; a bunch of kids in matching yellow shirts were running around, screaming and laughing. A few small boys came running past me really fast, engaged in a game of tag, and I reacted too late and ended up off balance.

   "Ah!"

I braced myself for a hard hit to a stone ground, but instead felt strong hands, that stopped me mid-fall...

"Whoa! Hey again~!" Ryder smiled down at me as he brought me back up to my feet.

"Hi! What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Well I'm off today and I felt like visiting you at work!" He said sweetly. "You got time right now?"

"I do actually! I'm on my break right now, I was actually gonna get my friend for our break—"

I finally got a good look at the exhibit. Once again, one of the pandas was hanging off the edge off the enclosure and Krysta was holding onto him while two other zookeepers tried to assist her.
