We spent the rest of that day just hanging out and talking. He made me feel so comfortable around him so I soon forgot my nerves and concerns and just relaxed in his presence. We talked for hours and hours about nothing of importance, half of it was such nonsense that I don't even remember what was said, all I do remember is that I smiled for every single second of it. And the best part, so did he. We got so lost in our conversation that before we knew it, the bakery was closing, and no matter how much I begged Jen to let us stay eventually we had to leave. "So, I know that you prefer dogs to cats, and that you think Drake would win in a fight against Chris Brown, but other than that and that you're not originally from America, I don't really know anything about you, do I Elise?" It was about 5pm, he'd insisted on walking me home after we had left the bakery and so here we were. Walking slowly side by side through the park. The evening had just started to get cool, there was a slight breeze in the air and not many people still around, and the handful of people that were still nearby almost disappeared into the nature surrounding us. It was just me and Cameron. "I suppose not. But I could say the same to you" I reply, shooting a cheeky grin in his direction. "Okay I can take a hint, how about we play 21 questions?" I contemplate this for a moment "As long as you go first" I say, grinning up at him. He smiles and nods in agreement, then lifts his finger to his lips and hums while he considers his first question. "Well, why did you move to America?" "My mum actually, she had a pretty brutal break up and suppose she just wanted to get as far away from it as possible, so we ended up here" "Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that, it sucks when things end that way" He looked down at me with a slight smile, it was comforting and warm, and for a moment I thought I saw him reach for my hand, but I must have been seeing things because our hands never actually connected. Never mind though, just the way he looked at me was enough to make me feel better. He cleared his throat "So uh, guess it's your turn then" "Oh yeah, right..." Now was my chance to find out anything in the world, so why couldn't I think of a damn question!? "Oh uh, well... Are you seeing anyone? I mean, do you have a girlfriend?" Oh smooth Elise, nice way to make that obvious. I giggle nervously and look down at my shoes. "Nah" he says "suppose I've been waiting to bump into the right girl" I sigh a breath of relief and smile up at him, I've only spent a few hours with him but already I felt such a connection, it was almost unreal! "What about you? Leave anyone behind in England?" "Nope, it's just me, I guess I could say the same as you, no ones really caught my attention before..." I trail off, having to stop myself from finishing that sentence as before I met you. There's a moments silence, I think he knew there was more to that sentence, but I'm just not willing to let my guard down like that for him yet. "That counts as your second question right? So my go again?" Good save. "Ha, yeah I guess so" he chuckles, and my whole body melts. "Give me an easy one" "Alright, nice and simple but very important. How old are you?" "Ah good question, I'm 19" "Oh that's cool, me too! November baby myself, how about you?" "September, so I'm older" he says laughing as he jokingly nudges me with his elbow. I nudge him back "Doesn't mean you get to tell me what to do though!" "Uh, yeah it does" he jokes "now carry me the rest of the way" he says, smirking at his false control "I'll have an easy job of that then, since this is my house" we stopped, dead opposite my house. We'd been walking on the other side of the road, so I pointed over to my front door to clarify. I look up at him and say "I think I can manage from here now, thanks" but he scowls back at me. "Oh no, a gentleman walks a lady to her door!" He wraps his hand around my arm and after checking for cars, pulls me across the road and to my front gate. "Now I can be happy knowing you've got home safely" he looks pleased with himself, and then there's a moments silence where neither of us quite know how to say goodbye. After a minute I open my gate "Well, goodbye I guess..." I take a step through and start to walk away. "Uh Elise, wait..." I turn around and look back at him. "Can I see you again?" Immediately smiles spread across both of our faces. "I'd really like that"
