Ch.12: Duet

Kai POV

 

To say the next few days were a pain was an understatement. I have been ignoring the questioning looks from Veera during class and I have avoided her as much as possible while my gang have been questioning my strange behaviour, especially Sehun, Suho and D.O..

What a joy…

 

Veera POV

 

Kai has been avoiding me! He is so frustrating! What is up with him and why is he so familiar? I suddenly thought of a possible solution that I had never thought of before. I bashed my head on the table as we were eating lunch in the cafeteria for once.

“You okay?” Donghae asked me. I have gotten very close with Super Junior, especially Donghae, Eunhyuk and Yesung.

“I’m fine. I just thought of something I should have done way earlier.” I said rubbing the now sore spot on my forehead.

“Hey guys! What do you know about Kai?” I asked them. They all just shrugged except for one.

“He is a cold hearted ba-” Leeteuk covered Heechul’s mouth as he started to speak.

“Why do you ask?” Leeteuk asked.

“He has been acting weird and he seems familiar. So anyone has anything proper to say about him?” I asked again, emphasizing on “proper” while staring straight at Heechul.

“Fine! No one really knows him except for EXOK and Kris and Lay I think. He doesn’t hang out with anyone but EXOK. But I actually think Kris and Lay know him better that even Sehun.” Heechul said stiffly.

“Do you two fight or something?...” I asked.

“You don’t want to know.” Leeteuk said covering Heechul’s mouth again preventing him from saying anything.

“Okay… Thanks, I’ll ask Yifan and Yixing later.”

“RING!!”

“Let’s go!” I said as we all cleared our rubbish and headed to class. I followed Kyuhyun, Sungmin and Ryeowook who had the same music class as me now.

Two more classes before we are free for two days! Did I mention it’s Friday? Oh well it is.

We sat in our seats as Mr Shim entered.

“Good afternoon. For the first music class, we will be singing duets! I will choose your partner. Please come and take your assignment when I call your name.”

Ooh I love singing!

 

Kai POV

 

I zoned out until I heard Mr Shim call my name.

“Jongin and Veera” Just great. I swear the whole world hates me.

Veera and I went up to collect the assignment from Mr Shim and we sat down together.

“So, what song do you want to sing Kai?” She asked me.

“Anything, what do you want?”

“I never listened to much Korean music before coming here so why don’t you choose? What’s your favourite song?”

“Don’t Cry My Lover? It’s not a duet.” I replied blankly.

“Give me your number.” She suddenly said after thinking a while.

“What? Why?” I was shocked at the sudden demand.

“So we can discuss when to practise out of class. Duh! And don’t worry about the song, I’ll make it into a duet.”

“Okay… Give me your phone.” I said while taking my phone out of my pocket. We swapped numbers and she said she would text me when she was done with the song.

This project will be so fun… Note the sarcasm…

 

Veera POV

 

Maybe I can finally find out what’s wrong with him...
