Chapter 3
That night I couldn't stop thinking about my father and my missing pocket watch. I slipped out of bed and felt around under the dresser the tip of my hand hit a thin crisp piece of paper. I pulled the paper out from under the dresser and read it.
Dear Emma,
I think about you every day and I know you probably don't know this but I Love you with all of my heart. When I see you walking down the streets confident and happy or puzzling over a mystery, either way you are beautiful. If I ever got enough courage up I would probably ask you out to dinner, but I do not even have the courage to send this letter. Maybe one day.........
"Hmmmmm I wonder who my secret admirer is.." I was lost in thought. Who could it be?! I have very few friends.
My door bell woke me up in the morning I threw some cloths on and opened the door.
"Good morning Luca!" I exclaimed as I invited him into my house.
We walked upstairs and I watched as he looked everywhere for clues.
" There isn't a clue in this entire room!" Luca said miserably as he finished examining the window.
"Well I did find this note." I told him as I handed him the slip of paper. At first he seemed surprised then a little angry but he read the note then crammed it into his pocket.
"I will do a finger print test tonight then I will come back tomorrow with the results," he told me then he walked down the stairs and out the door.
