A Simple Call

A Simple Call

Blue tears dripping,

Down her face,

Streaking across her face

Along with clear blue raindrops,

Falling from the dark clouds above.

She didn't know why it happened,

It was a accident,

That would ruin the rest of her life.

She sank down to her knees,

Holding her stomach,

That was now holding,

A child.

Of a man,

Who raped her,

Two weeks ago.

She shook her head,

Don’t remember,

That night.

Don’t remember.

He was a man,

Her love of her life,

Then he became her ex.

After a year of not seeing him,

He came.

He came in,

Through the window,

Of her bedroom.

And he raped her,

In her sleep,

And waking her up.

She thought she was fine,

After that night.

But she started,

Getting morning sickness.

She went to a doctor,

This morning with her mother.

She heard she was pregnant,

With a child.

A child she didn’t want to have,

Just before her sweet sixteen birthday.

The doctor suggested an abortion.

She said no,

Her mother said no.

It was final,

She would get into a homeschooling program,

For teen mothers.

She finally got up from the wet ground,

Still holding her stomach.

She slowly walked home.

She went to her bedroom,

Where he raped her.

She sat on a chair,

Beside her desk.

She opened her email,

Started typing rapidly,

To the man who was,

The father of the child.

It was simple:

You are going to be a father,

To my child.

She quickly hit Send,

It was over,

Of telling him.

A call rang from her cell.

“Hello?” she said.

“Hi. I heard.”

“About what?!”

“My stupid brother,

Getting you pregnant.”

“How did you find out?!”

“He showed me the email, you know he’s not going to do anything for you and baby?”

“I guessed.”

“Hey, I’m going to be the father to your child.”

“What!”

“I’m going to provide for you and the child.”

“....”

“Is it alright?”

*crying* “Yes it is! Thank you! You don’t know how much this means to me!”

“I know. Being the older twin, I was jealous of him. I wanted to be dating you and not him.”

“Are you saying?”

“Yep. Will you date me?”

“Yes! Yes! Yes!”

“Thank you. I won’t give up on you and the baby.”

“I know, dear.”

*chuckling* “Alright. Talk to you later.”

“ ‘Kay! Bye!”

“Bye!”

She hung up,

Dancing around.

This man,

Her ex’s older twin brother,

Is going to provide for her,

And now this unborn child.

A simple call,

Will help her for

The next coming months.

She sank,

Into her bed,

Happily crying.

She whispered to her belly;

“My child, you have a mommy who loves you and a daddy, who loves you. Even if you aren’t exactly his child. You are a special child.”
