Wide eyed, I struggled against the rope tying me to the chair, but being the wimp I am, my wrists began to raw. "Now, you didn't think I would make it that easy for you to get out my little minx? No, I plan to keep you for a long time." His hysterical laughter sent chills up my spine. He lightly brushed my red wrists and I flinched back. "Little Bird, your wrists are going to hurt if you keep doing this. Just relax." He left a sloppy kiss on the silver covering my lips. I growled in my throat, hating the fact that this crazy thought I was his. He laughed again and skipped out of the room. I kept the goons in my sight, but studied my surroundings. It was pitch black outside so it must have been just a couple of hours since I was taken. Gritting my teeth, I got angry and struggled again. Whipping the hair out of my face, I then noticed a grate above my head and all of my muscles relaxed and a spark of hope ignite in my heart, making my lips stretch under the tape.

He came in again, this time without his purple topcoat, showing the expensive suit underneath. I looked at him and waited to see what he would do. "How is the bruise I gave you dear? You are a bit more fragile than you seem to think." Walking closer to me, he brushed my hair back from my neck, touching my still tender neck. Cringing back, he laughed crazily. I froze when I felt a cold point pressing into my neck. "It seems there was a little disturbance down the street by a certain Bat. We don't want any Bats here, now do we my Little Bird?" He sent the men around the room to search the building and I whimpered. The trembling started again, beginning in my bones and then to my whole body. All went quite downstairs and I heard ringing in my ears. The constant giggle of the clown made my stomach churn. My masked figure appeared at the door silently.

My eyes welled with tears as the pocketknife dug into my skin. "Let her go." His raspy voice calmed me, reassured me that I would be okay. "Oh come on Bats! Do you really think I'm just going to hand over my little girl?" The bozo took the knife away from my neck, but then slashed the side of my face. I yelped and I closed my eyes, already seeing blood drip from the corner of my eye. Batman's fingers twitched and his jaw clenched, but he didn't show any signs of aggression. I kept my eyes closed as the Joker grabbed my hair and roughly pulled my head back. "Come on, come closer. I dare you Dark Knight." I opened my eyes as the knife was put back to the skin covering my neck and saw Batman's eyes turn to desperation. His lips curled just slightly in amusement and his eyes moved just above us. A loud clang and person fell from the grate, tackling the Joker to the ground.

Closing my eyes in relief, I heard a loud crack and gloved hands held my face. "Sweetheart." Opening my eyes, I looked into Batman's brown ones, trying to hold back tears. Using the sharp gauntlets on his arms, he cut my arms and legs free from the metal chair. Ripping the tape from my mouth with my trembling fingers, I jumped into his arms. He folded me into him, not daring to let go. "Thank you. Thank you." I held the back of his neck so tightly my knuckles turned white. Batman held the back of my head with one hand and held me against him with the other. He stood, still holding me. "Don't hold back with the zip ties Robin." The familiar sound of his voice calmed my speeding heart as I turned to who I assumed was Robin. John's eyes shined behind the mask. "Thank you." He stood from his crouched position and reached me in a couple of strides. He placed a light kiss on my forehead and said, "We'll always be here to save you baby girl." I smiled at that and placed my head back on Batman's chest. Sirens wailed outside and I looked back up at Batman. "Should we go? After all, we're not in Gotham yet." Still not letting go of me, he took one last look at the Joker beneath us and I shrunk into him. Putting his lips to my head, he walked ghost like down the stairs with Robin behind him.

Stepping into the darkness of the night, I looked up at the inky sky. "Home?" A small smile crossed Batman's face and he nodded. Voice still in character, he said "Home." Police cars screamed by and Batman put me against the wall, covering me with his black cape. Robin climbed up the fire escape. "The Bat?" His voice echoed from the roof. "Yes." His husky voice made me smile. Batman turned his head to me and his cocky smirk crossed his lips. "This is nice." My cheeks flushed at his flirty tone. "Batman." He put his lips to mine and then went down, grazing them on my jaw, down to my neck. "Batman. You're still," My breath hitched when he slightly bit down, "You're still him." He hummed and left an open mouth kiss on my collar bone. "Wouldn't that be story then? Batman saving you and then to show your gratitude, you thank him by-" Before he could go on, I pushed him away, making his intimidating voice chuckle. "Another time."

Leaving one last kiss along my neck, I quietly moaned and then blushed. "Hmmm." I pressed my face to his armored chest as the Bat appeared above our heads, making his cape whip in the wind. Putting an arm around me, he took a grapple gun to hook on to it. We flew threw the night and I held tighter to his cape. Robin sat in the backseat and Batman dropped in the front, placing me in his lap. "It's going to be awhile, sleep my love." Brushing a strand of hair away from my face, I gripped his cape and pulled it around me. A chuckle bubbled from his throat as he put his lips to the top of my head. "Are you okay there Gina? You can sit on my lap if you want, I'll make sure you're comfortable." I dipped my head back, looking at Robin's upside down wink. "No thank you." Shooting a wink back, I felt lips at the base of my neck. "Jesus Bats, a bit frisky." I gently slapped the back of his head and then yawned hugely. "Goodnight babe." I rested my head against his chest and let the steady rhythm of the engines lull me to sleep.
