Aracel hesitates to knock on the door, she had been standing there for about an hour just watching other people go in.

'I can do this'

'No I can't'

'Yes I can, he's probably not even lucid. Plus if I don't do it who else I'm the next of kin unfortunately...'

Aracel knocks on the door and waits for a response. The door is opening revealing a nurse, she smiles as she recognizes Aracel.

"Ms. Mikaelson."

"Hi, Amanda."

"Your father should be in his same place as always, in fact I think he just woke up from his nap."

"Is he-"

"Lucid? Not today Ms."

"Thanks Amanda." Aracel mumbles, stepping into the nursing home

"He was lucid a few weeks ago, we tried calling you, but someone else responded to your scroll." Amanda says

"What did they sound like?"

"Husky, but very attractive. Are you seeing someone Ms. Mikaelson?"

"Amanda he's an idiot trust me I don't want him." Aracel chuckles

Amanda nods and begins to lead Aracel to her father. There was a small living room, with the lights dimmed and a fireplace. On a chair near the fireplace, he sat reading a book of some sorts.

"I'll leave you to it and if you need anything just yell." Amanda says

"Thanks."

"No problem Ms. Mikaelson." Amanda says, before walking away

Aracel stood there by the doorway, watching him read silently. All that was heard was the flipping of the pages. Aracel sighs before walking towards him. She clears her throat and he looks up at her.

"Aracel! How was school today?"

"We-"

"Did that stupid idiot pick on you today? Did he pull your hair again?"

"No-"

"If that boy keeps picking on you, you should tell Eugene and Silas to punch him in the face or maybe pull his hair, see how he likes it. But whatever you do don't retaliate not only are you so petite from being a five year old, but you're also a girl and no girl is made to be a warrior. "

"Of course, you've never made me forget that ever."

"And with good reason. A woman's place is to clean and cook, then when she finds a man to settle down with she'll give him kids and raise them. That's what will happen with you Aracel, when you come of age of course."

"I understand...." Aracel mumbles

"Wonderful!"

"Hypothetically speaking what if a woman didn't want that kind of life? What if she wanted to be a warrior because men and women are equal? What if she wanted to change the world for the better?"

"I'd say she wouldn't survive! She wouldn't make it in a man's world. Nobody would want her because who wants a woman who doesn't understand. Not only is she painting a target on her back, but she'll be unloved her whole life. To be forgotten like a ghost."

"I'm willing to take that risk." Aracel mumbles

"Aracel go play with some dolls or something and while you're at it forget about those ideas." He grumbles
