"Hi, I'm Agent Teresa Lisbon, in charge of this division of the CBI" a short lady with dark hair told me. She was wearing a pale blue t-shirt tucked into a pair of dark trousers with a blazer over the top. "I'll introduce you to everyone and explain how it all works but it'll be learning as you go" she explained. I nodded and followed her into a big room with three desks and a sofa, windows surrounding it. "We've got a new member of the team, Agent Jennifer Roberts. She'll be joining as of today and will come with us on a few cases to learn how we work. Treat her well" Lisbon ordered.
"Hi, my name's Jane, Patrick Jane" A man with blonde curly hair told me, extending his hand for me to shake.
"Don't learn from Jane in field work, he gets us in trouble constantly and you're an agent so you'd have no excuse" Lisbon warned. I nodded.
A woman with ginger hair,a little shorter than me walked over. "Agent Grace Van Pelt" she smiled. "Welcome to the team"
"I'm Rigsby, hi" A tall man gave a small wave which I returned.
"Cho" the final man told me. I nodded.
"Nice to meet you all" I said quietly, a small smile on my face.
"I'll take you downstairs, they'll sort out all the equipment you'll need" Lisbon led me towards the lift then to the arms room. I was fitted with a bulletproof vest and given a gun and holster.
"Nice, 9mm" I inspected the gun.
"Stick these in your pocket when we go on field work" she handed me more bullets. I nodded. Her phone started ringing. "I'm just gonna go back up, come up when you're ready" She said and walked away.
I set myself up on the firing range just to get the hang of it all again, making sure my shot hadn't got worse in the three months since I'd last held a gun. I hit the target every time on my first attempt so packed my stuff up and left, taking myself back to the office.
"Look, I don't want a new member any more than you do but the DA insisted and I can't argue with him" I heard Lisbon's voice and stopped.
"As long as she doesn't hold us back on field work, it's fine" Rigsby commented.
"She won't. She's got a good shot" Jane defended me.
"And how do you know that?" Van Pelt asked.
"Look at her arms" He commented, like it was obvious. I walked in and handed Lisbon the target on paper I'd been shooting at.
"You wanted to see if I had a good aim" I reminded her. She unfolded it and looked at the three holes in the middle of the page.
"That's impressive, Agent. Lets just hope you're just as good on moving targets" She commented. I nodded.
"When did you move out here then? Is that an English accent?" Van Pelt asked. I nodded.
"Any reason to move?" Rigsby asked.
"Death threats" I gave a short laugh. He raised his eyebrow. "I worked for MI5, I upset a fair few criminals. They thought I'd be safer if I was moved somewhere far away" I explained.
"Why California?" Cho asked.
"I wanted to be somewhere really different but I didn't get a choice so they said 'its sunny' and sent me here"
"Have you got family or anything out here?" Van Pelt asked.
"Nope, don't know anyone" I told her.
"Okay, stop interrogating her, we've got a case" Lisbon walked in again. "Body found on a road, another girl missing. Let's have a look" She said. We all walked down to the car park and I got in Lisbon's car.
