Cho's POV

"What do we know?" Lisbon asked, joining us at the crime scene.

"His name is Connor Balding, works in a bank, recently divorced. Got a kid of about eight who is being told now. Owns a restaurant down the road called Balding Buffet, not that great in my own experience" I explained.

"Okay, Jane, do your thing. We need to get back to the office and look into the divorce, she's the first suspect" Lisbon told us. "Van Pelt, get straight on with that when we're back"

"Yes boss" She agreed.

On arriving back at the office, Van Pelt started work and we looked through various bits of information forensics had found on the scene.

"Boss, I've got something" Van Pelt said. We all looked at her. "The divorce was because of the wife having an affair. She met this guy, Harry Jones, and the forms were sent to the court immediately. I don't know if they're still together but Mr Balding recently won custody of the kid" Van Pelt explained.

I saw Roberts' face flinch at part of that, assuming there was a bug or something. She was with me for this case. Lisbon decided that the best way to fit her into our unit was for her to spend a case with each member of the unit and learn how they work through experience. Today was my day.

"Okay, find the address of both Mrs Balding and Harry Jones and we'll get off to find them and bring them here for questioning" Lisbon ordered.

"Thing is, though Boss," Van Pelt argued. "Mrs Balding went missing a month ago, the day after she lost custody of the kid"

"Okay, get me Harry Jones' address and Rigsby and I will go and find him. Once you've done that, get the file on her disappearance. We're going to need to know as much as possible" She told her.

After we'd read the case file an hour later, I sat down with Roberts in the interrogation room, awaiting  Lisbon and Rigsby's return. Lisbon pushed a tall man in the room. "Sit down Mr Jones" he sat down and glanced at Roberts. Lisbon shut the door and made her way back to her office.

"Do you know where Alice Balding is?" I asked, looking straight into his eyes. Silence. "Where were you last night?" More silence. "You know you could be fined for hindering a police enquiry" I reminded him. Still silence.

After a minute, he looked up. Piercing blue eyes pointed at Roberts. "If I am the grass and you the breeze, blow through me. If I am the rose and you the bird, then woo me. If you are the rhyme and I the refrain, don’t hang on my lips, come and I’ll come too when you cue me." He whispered. Roberts' eyes widened. He said nothing more after that, just sat there.

I looked at Roberts and motioned for her to come outside with me. "That's got to be a clue" I told her. "What poem was that? Do you have any idea?"

"Ghazal by Mimi Khalvati" she replied instantly. I raised my eyebrow. "It's not a clue"

"Why not?" I asked. What was she talking about?

"Because it's my favourite poem. Let me talk to Lisbon a second, keep him in there, I'll be like five minutes" And she walked to Lisbon's office. I guarded the door as I waited for her return, in which Lisbon followed.
