chapter 9: confused feelings

"come in...", Anthony's voice was muffled by the heavy door of his office.

"Good evening sir...",she greeted her father, the familiar smell of the expensive Plasencia Cigar mixed with Glenfiddich Scotch that always accompanied her father went right through her nostrils, she stood few feet away from his desk waiting for his permission to sit down, Anthony is the kind of serious businessman that made even his closest people address him with respect.

After been giving the permission to seat, she took place on the chair infront of his desk where he was working on some papers,"what's going on between you and Jack..?",he got straight into the subject.
The Blue's and Diaz's known as the strongest and most loaded families in the american continent, had secretly agreed on combining their kingdoms to create an empire that would rule from Greenland to Argentina through the marriage of their eldest children Selena and Jack.
However Selena and Jack are still unaware of their planned future, all what they knew is that their families are labor allies and didn't want something like their heirs' relationship to crack any sort of uneasiness for the business.

Selena went quite for a while unsure of what she should say, the seriousness in her father's voice always cracked any strong walls she managed to build, she always felt tiny in his presence, "nothing to worry about Sir, it's just a small conflict nothing serious...",she managed the answer without stuttering, Anthony hummed in response still riffling and studying the sheets in his hands, Selena watched as his thick eyebrows shot up in disapproval about something written in one of the documents, he scoffed paying attention to his Scotch, finally meeting his daughter's gaze after sipping his alcohol slowly savouring the bittersweetness,"since it's no big deal, then don't let him make a big one out of it...",he authorised sinking comfortably into his royal chair," yes, Sir...", Selena's answers were always short, since she knew her father hated rambling.

A soft knock on the door interrupted them, and one of Anthony's employees came into view holding a file folder,"Sir, these are the paper you asked for...",the young man stood firmly, making Selena wonder about the amount of people her father had a power over, "that's everything for tonight, I would've liked to chat with you but I'm busy, you're dismissed...", Anthony addressed his daughter while motioning for the man to get closer, Selena got up flashing a polite smile towards her father, silently thanking the intruder for saving her from a long business course, reaching to turn the doorknob Anthony's voice stopped her,"By the way, Emily told me you brought a new friend home, even tho she approved the girl and said she's a good person, I need to have some information bout her later...have a good night Selena..".

After finishing her night routine the cheerleader plopped on her bad face down,a tear threatened to trickle down her skin, for the world she was the girl who had everything, money, beauty, popularity, if they knew how trapped and controlled she was, everything anybody dreamt of having meant nothing to her, if anything it safocated her enough she wished she was a normal person who's biggest problems was feeding herself .
Deciding against retrieving her phone from the nightstand after it vibrated, knowing she wasn't in the mood to deal with one of her so called friends or her boyfriend, she shifted and lied properly under the covers wishing her world would change when she gets up again.

Walking down the hallway, Selena as usual was greeted and welcomed by every single student she passed by, even though she never asked or fought for popularity, her magical beauty made everybody bends their head treating her as a queen. Approaching her locker she noticed Jack standing their with his bunch of friends, she shook her head annoyingly and opened her locker without addressing them,"hey babe...",Jack whispered in her ear, making her jump when he touched her suddenly, he thought she enjoyed his touch so he pressed his body against her tightening his held around her torso, "morning Jack....",she replied uncomfortably, turning around still between his arm she pushed him gently by his shoulders, so he loosened his grip on her but didn't let her go,"why were mad at me....",he pouted trying to look as innocent as possible, for any other girl his action would've made her heart melt but not Selena who got tired of him whining to his family whenever they had a fight, or when he fakes innocence and shows her friends how much of a caring boyfriend he is,"it doesn't matter now...",she dismissed him not caring anymore about his worthless behaviors that always made her feel like she's not more then a pleasurable puppy, even though they never went further than a half naked make out session, no matter how Jack insisted, for Selena it just didn't feel right and since she's like any normal girl who wants her first to be special and memorable, she declined all her boyfriend's attempt and fortunately her father took her side when he heard bout it since of course mommy's boy had to tell his mother bout it...
