Closure

I saw Nut waiting out side and a look of sympathy spread across his face. He must've known what was going to happen. He waived me into the car and I got in but as soon as my body hit the seat I started to break down. how could he? I thought to myself, knees buried into my chest. Even though I've tried very little, I had already discovered a favorite restaurant and as I looked up I saw Nut had pulled into a chilis.
"I hope this can make you feel better" he said quietly and patted me on the back. We got out of the car and walked in side.
"Hi welcome to chilis" a man in his underwear said as he welcomed us. I found it a little strange but didn't think much of it. Nut and I sat down and conversed over spaghetti and salads.
"Why are you so nice to me?" I had to ask. Nut sighed and his face turned slightly red.
"Well Poot, I honestly think that you are amazing and beautiful no matter what the world says and to be truthful, my dad once told me the key to a girls heart is to help her through anything... even break ups." I started to tear up.
"Oh Nut thank you so much" I reached across the table and embraced him, burying my head into his shoulder. We continued the rest of the dinner talking about our past. We had both gone through some hard times but we thought that without them, we wouldn't have met each other.
We went home to Nuts house and he came over to the passengers side of the car, opening it for me. I stood up out of the car meeting face to face with Nut. We both looked into each others eyes and I thought I noticed him glance down at my lips and then I knew it was coming. His face slowly pressed against mine, our lips connecting and for the first time, I knew everything would be alright.
