You can't be forever blind, unless you prefer living in the dark, just like you have been living so far. But despite of being a night person, you most likely like a nice spring day, with the warm sun giving light to your skin. For once, you want to get out of the dark!
Break free
You told me to stay quiet
And don't open my mouth
I stayed forever deprived
From what you announced
I didn't try to break free
'Cause I felt you owned me
It looked normal at first
You did quench my thirst
I did everything you said
You never gave all you had
I never asked for too much
Just to never break contact
I wanted you to interact
Leave aside your intellect
I wanted you to come to me
And open that old diary
That's covered by age's dust
Since you left us in the dark
I wanted you to open the gate
Allow me to communicate
And let me show to you
That I have my own values
I wanted you to be kind
And show me the good side
Till today I thought you had
But then my back got stabbed
In ways I did not expect
My faith is changing aspect
Now I want to stand up
I want to fight for my rights
Listen, I want to be no more
That naïve girl you ignored
I want to cherish myself
Can't stay hidden in a shelf
I must have been a fool
To follow your stupid rules
I was alone all the time
You never were by my side
I thought you took care of me
When all you did was flee
Never cared about my health
Made me feel so depressed
Can't believe you saw in me
Just the pretty face indeed
I used to have a caring soul
Destroying it was your goal
The joke is on me again
I allowed you to entertain
Now I'm here to save myself
From the terrible mistakes
Won't let you to decide
What I should do with my life
Won't let you ruin that piece
That's still enjoying sanity
I'll take the command I had
Before you poisoned my head
I have limits I don't cross
After all I'm not that lost
For once I'll put myself first
So far you've been the worst
I had to break free eventually
With you I lost my identity
