Monday was just a regular day at school. Everyone seemed to be talking about me. I felt quite awkward walking down the halls with everyone talking about my accident, how I almost died, and how I was with a guy I had met three days earlier.
"Oh my gosh Willow!" Cynthia came up to me and we hugged. She looked me over. "You look kinda messed up." I laughed. "Yeah, I do." I agreed. "Hey, do you want to come to my house later?" I asked. "Sure!" she smiled. "I'll see you then!"

After school, I went home, took a shower and got comfy. The whole time I was thinking about my next date with Coby. I decided I would wear a pair of my favorite ripped jeans, and an oversized knit sweater with a white collared shirt underneath. It would be casual and cute, just like the place I was taking him. I would take him to a drive-in movie and we could lie together my friend's pickup truck. Too far? Maybe I'd just take him to a little cafe and we could talk about the future and our dreams. I sighed, rolled over on her bed and felt my ears tinge pink. Cynthia walked in. "Someone looks like they're in love!" She squealed. "I got you this lipstick! It's long-lasting and smudge-proof and pretty!" I looked at her. "Why would you get me that?" I was genuinely puzzled. "I NEVER wear makeup!" "Exactly!" Cynthia said. "I bought you a few little things to enhance your beautiful features." I rolled my eyes. "I don't have 'beautiful features' and I asked you to come here to be my study buddy, not my fairy godmother who will turn me into a princess." "I'll study with you after I showed you how to use the makeup." She picked up a tube from her shopping bag began applying mascara. "This is mascara." She explained. "I know what mascara is," I said. "I'm not THAT naive." "Ok then just watch me." She pulled a bronzer from the bag and expertly carved out her cheekbones. Then she did a simple brown look with the eyeshadow and finished it off with the lipstick. "There!" She set the makeup down. "Copy what I just did and you will look effortlessly perfect." "Aww, thanks!" My ears fluttered. "I can't wait!"

That night I texted him.

Me: Hey how are you and your injuries?

Him: they're getting better. How about you?

Me: I'm almost completely healed.

Me: What do you think of going out sometime?

Him: Sure! Where were you thinking?

Me: The Jamie's Cafe. It's cute and casual.

Him: lol ok. It's a date!

Me: Let's hope we don't crash again.
