The Poets board the carriage and Beatrice drives them into the heavens. The souls meet their destiny at last.
Beatrice held my weeping frame
And Virgil's teary-eyed compassion
As she gently helped him claim
His seat with me laid in his arms.
'Onward,' she whispered and held the reigns
So softly as to do no harm.
The song began once more to sound
My weary hand fell in his palm
And Virgil's fingers traced warm around
The delicate lines upon my hands.
And as the horses leapt and bound
Across the lush and grassy lands
My eyes closed softly with his touch
I was content within a man's
Warm embrace that made me feel enough
For the first time in a while.
And even as I write this fluff
My heart is warming with a smile.
Beatrice drove the carriage and
Suggested it would be a while
So we snuggled while she took command.
My gaze once more fell on his blue eyes
And there stood the moment I hadn't planned
My lips acted to their own demise.
In that sweet moment now I write
I still reside among the skies
Despite my love I still have sight
Of luscious green the heavens mould.
And all my life I thought it unright
To succumb to wishes my heart is told
Virgil's kiss was all that's right
And he was all I'd ever hold.
Beatrice's smile was slight
She had known it all along
And thus we rode into the night
Accompanied by angel's song.
Thanks to our dying we found what we are,
A boy and a boy kissing, home among stars.
